Wireless network no longer working on PC
« on: Sunday 20 November 2011, 10:16:29 AM »
For some reason, my wireless connection has just disappeared from my PC.

It is working fine on my iPad, mobile etc

Yet, all I am getting when trying to connect to it when on my PC is "no connections are available". Then when I troubleshoot, it's telling me to plug an Ethernet cable into my computer.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try disabling and re-enabling the connection in the connection manager. Seems to work 99% of the time.

I may sound stupid, but how I do that? As I can't see any option for it.

I'm using Windows 7.

Checked that, and there's nothing to disconnect as the device isn't showing up anymore. Which is the initial problem.

Aye sorry, it's not called the connection manager at all  Network and sharing center > change network settings and disable and re-enable your wireless card.

Since it's not showing up and I can only think of checking it hasn't came loose or try adding new hardware in control panel and see if it shows up?

Maybe a system restore to a point where it was working might work too :)

Aye, I've reinstalled the drivers and checked the back of my PC, and it is still connected.

I've got a Linksys WMP54G Wireless PCI Adapter if that's any help.

Just tried via ethernet as well and that's not working either.
