« on: Thursday 22 September 2011, 11:04:43 AM »
Newcastle               vs      Ayr United

Relevant points from the Cup Rules - full list can be read http://www.internetfootball.org.uk/cuprules.php

Quote
18. As per official IFA Policy the IFA Challenge Cup has not been registered with the FA or any other body and hence is not a tournament sanctioned by the FA or any other body We must make it clear that the IFA will not be held responsible for any injury or loss sustained by individuals taking part in the tournament. All players compete at their own risk and that by taking part in the tournament they acknowledge this.  Players may wish to consider taking out individual insurance cover in the event that they may suffer injury or loss by taking part in the tournament.

7. Match deadlines are as follows:

First Round: November 30th 2011
Second Round: February 29th 2012
Quarter Finals: April 30th 2012
Semi Finals: July 1st 2012

5. All semi finals will be played on neutral ground by arrangement between both teams.  Failure to agree dates, times and venues will be scrutinised by the IFA Committee and the match will be forfeited if one or other team has not co-operated fully in agreeing match arrangements

2. The final will held be at WorldNET 2012 in July 2012 (date TBC) at the University Of Leeds' Bodington Hall. Kick off will be 6.00pm and finalists agree to be on site by 5.30pm.  There will be a formal presentation at 8pm, immediately after the final, in the upstairs Hall of the Main Building.  Winners and Runners Up are expected to attend this presentation.

1. The IFA Challenge Cup rules are the same as for the IFA League

Quote
1.7 Discipline of Teams

It is the responsibility of the team to ensure that all team managers, players and supporters follow the agreed standards of behaviour both on and off the field. In the case of on the field activities it is expected that team managers / captains will remove the offending players from the field of play for the remainder of the game period. This is no place for hotheads. People wishing to behave in such manner should seek their entertainment elsewhere. Teams have agreed to be responsible for their own team’s actions so therefore there will be no need for any intervention by the IFA League committee. There will be no warnings on behaviour; if the committee feel the need to act they will do with Draconian effects to sides. This should not happen because you are all going to get on with it in the spirit it deserves.

Please ensure that you (and any friends who come along to play) understand the ethos of the IFA and what 'good sportsmanlike conduct' is. A fierce but fair attitude is more than welcome on the pitch, but this doesn't mean that you will be tolerated if you act like a t*** (verbally or physically) to the opposition.

They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

Ayr will be coming down for the weekend on Sat 3rd Dec, playing NOFC in the morning before taking in the NUFC v Chelsea match in the afternoon and a night in the Bigg Market in evening, capping it off with a highly recommended stop at WTUTCT Pig&Whistle.

This year's IFA Cup requires us to submit a 'squad list' so can you stick your name down if you would like to play (in this round...or the next!)

Cheers

If there's a cap on players (say 15) I'll say I'm out (don't want to take someone's spot), but if there isn't put my name down in case I can make it.

25  I don't think it's a strict rule on players but I imagine a certain % of the registered players will have to be available for the final (should our team make it) on the Friday night of WorldNET...July 2012

My birthday then.....in then out after aye?

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.

Team sheets with the names of all players must be submitted within 7 days of every game you play.  This will ONLY be available as an online form on the IFA website from the 19th September onwards.

It looks as though we don't need to name a squad in advance, just supply them details of who actually plays in the games. I will clarify this with the IFA powers that be.

You just completed your payment.

Your transaction ID for this payment is: 4NY66693N3769753N

We're paid up. O0

Most likely to be moved to an early (Sat) morning KO now that SKY have moved the NUFC KO to 12:45pm.

Will confirm once Ayr have got back to me with their travel plans.
