Really didn't like the place when I was there, far too congested and full of cockneys as well :kasper:

Spot on GM (and Mr Johnson).

Although when he coined that phrase I'm not sure if he was thinking of people who have Newcastle as an alternative.

I finally just severed my last physical connection with London, after having lived there for 14 years (in three spells) and keeping one foot there for the most of the rest of my adult life. I certainly got tired of it. It's an incredible place when you're young, interested in going out, and have a bit of money in your pocket. But if you can't afford to cab it everywhere, it's a really wearisome place to navigate. And unless you grew up there or belong to a tightly knit immigrant community, your friends are inevitably scattered all over the place, most of them miles and miles away.

Where did you go & did you have a good time?

Is that question directed at me, mate? Because I'm not going until end of July! :)

Going down for the weekend, this weekend coming. Can't wait.

If anyone has any recommendations for SE Asian food in central areas it would be much appreciated.

Try this place, a bit different as it specialises in Hotpots, really nice place: http://www.timeout.com/london/restaurants/venue/2%3A1911/little-lamb

Loads of great Vietnamese restaurants around the Old Street / Kingsland Road (particularly the latter) area - Cay Tre was particularly nice when I went there. You might have to queue but the food's quality and reasonable. Good location if you want to head out round angel or camden after too, just a couple of stops up on the Northern line. Obviously there's loads around Soho too, just head up and down Greek St, Wardour St, Dean St etc. - had a really nice malaysian there once.

Give over man. It's f***ing class. Just got back, had a lush weekend, got abso-f***ing-lutely soaked today though.

Never fail to be amazed by the sheer amount of choice you have no matter what you fancy doing, particularly food & drink wise.

Any highlights?

Your appearances need to be least fleeting.
"I took the decision to resign in September 2008 only after very careful and anxious consideration. The decision to resign was one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever had to take in my life. I believe that anybody who knows me and my attachment to Newcastle United and the North East in general will understand how difficult this must have been. I very much hope that the decision of the Tribunal now confirms why I felt that I had no option but to resign from the position as Manager of the Club that I love."- Kevin Keegan speaking on 02/10/2009

I would never want to live in London, but it's undeniably an exciting place to visit and I love any trips I have there. If you have someone with you who knows their way round then all the better. Been in some great pubs the last few match trips I've had there.
You were supposed to be the chosen one!
