Cheers Pirlo. Hotel is right near the Old Blue Last & Bar Kick so I'll be sure to pop in & see what's craicing.

Went to Mien Tay last night on Kingsland Road, I thoroughly recommend it to all you London types. 2 starters and 2 mains was just over £20 plus it's BYOB. Bargaintastic. I recommend the squid starter, lush.

We're not far from Shoreditch so might give that a whirl actually, cheers.

Don't even charge corkage either, not sure it's legal BYOB as they sell drink but nevermind, we didn't know you could when we went in so I just popped down the offy after we'd sat down. They already had the glasses on the table ready for me on my return. Class

Haha nice one, BYOB always appeals like as you'd much rather spend your money on plenty of food than get ripped on drinks.

Had some lush food in Highgate village last night, at The Victoria. Really quiet pub but the food was immense.

Il Bordello's in Wapping if you like Italian. Huge portions, not that pricey. And the food is well tasty.

Spent a splendid four days in London over the weekend and I can certainly endorse both of the above, cheers for the recommendations chaps.

Went out in London after the Fulham game on Saturday. Half way through the night I realised I was in the club from the Inbetweeners movie

Going to London next weekend. We're staying in the Cavendish Hotel in Mayfair (SW1Y 6JF). Any recommendations for decent bars nearby?

Mayfair, you don't mess around do you? Not too sure about around your hotel, but Soho/Piccadilly/Covent Garden is a short journey away.

If you want grand surroundings the bar in the restaurant of the Criterion Theatre is really good. Just off Piccadilly Circus. I've never been for food but you can sit and have a cocktail/beer at a table by the bar and enjoy the interior etc. It's nice.

Walk over the river and there's the Royal Festival Hall/Southbank Centre. That has a few places to drink and get a river view.

Wouldn't usually go so classy but we're going with my sister & brother in law to celebrate their first wedding anniversary so decided to splash out on a nice hotel and might as well sample the local area. Cheers!

Why would they want you there spoiling their anniversary? ;)

If you're in Mayfair, the Grapes is probably the classic one to go to. I used to love going to the Guinea Grill, it's on a little back street called Bruton Place (I think) which has at least two of the ten houses I would buy if I won several billion on the lottery. You'll see the ones I mean I think, with the cute winches on top.

If in Mayfair, be prepared to be surrounded by suits in bars. You can work out a blinding pub crawl though, and I recommend walking down Bond Street looking at the jewellery.
Obviously, I'm speaking of a hypothetical world in which there is a greater club than Tottenham.
