Firefox

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/RC/

Just tried it out and it's back to the front of the queue. I think I'll be switching back now after my brief flirtation with Chrome  :smug:

Great UI, speed, startup time, app tabs, javascript improvements! plus plenty more. It's been through 12 Betas and 2 RCs so it's been well vetted thus far, it will update itself very soon to remove the RC (release candidate) tag. Give it a try.

Loving it so far
“What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.” - Sir Bobby Robson

Took me ages to find the refresh button.

I like what they've done with the status bar (ie making it temporary), but I don't like how to show Echofon you now have to have an add-on bar. The Echofon devs need to work around this I suspect.

f***ing yes. If anyone else is interested in resolving the above: http://userstyles.org/styles/39217

Use the 60% transparent option.

I'm too used to Chrome to go back.

Just downloaded it this morning.  It seems pretty decent - certainly seems quicker on startup than 3.6 was.

Impressed by all of the new Browsers out at the moment.  Tbf, they are all just about similar in most ways now.

After a few days, I can't see that it's that much faster than 3.6. Certainly the boot time isn't as impressively quick after a few reboots as it was after upgrading, not sure why. Laptop is a dual core T4300 2.1GHz with 4GB ram so I can't see it being my machine really.

Couple of nice touches they've added though, like being able to paste and search, as well as open links just by highlighting instead of having to C&P then submit them.

I have to say I quite like it, then again I've always used Firefox and never had a problem with it yet.

Thought this was quite cool, FF4 downloads in real-time, well over 40 million so far!

That is good.  Firefox seems to be spectacularly unpopular in Russia though!

It's only ever when you've uninstalled your original one that you notice irritants like can't-click-the-scroll-wheel-to-speed-scroll-any-more

I upgraded because although I'm happy with 3.6 or whatever I feel obliged
.

You upgrade on the premise it will be better and faster like all things pc.

It's a browser and as long as it doesn't  get targeted as as hard as ie, I'll use it

Very fast.

Does anyone know how to revert to the original skin. I've carried one over that looks naff on this version.
Sir John Hall: "I was told that the man behind the deal was Mike Ashley and I sat with his representatives over three days thrashing out a deal. I was keen to know why they wanted the club and they were quite honest. They wanted to market their sports goods in the Far East and would use the club to help do this."

It's alright, but is xmarks continually asking everyone for a password, when it should already know it, or is that just for my benefit?
