Newcastle boss Alan Pardew on the injuries to Ryan Taylor and Leon Best in his side's win over Aston Villa

"The good news for Ryan Taylor is that there is no break or fracture so we think he's going to be OK and there's big swelling on the leg. We're very pleased because he's been fantastic for us this year. For Leon best he's got a medial ligament problem which is usually a six-week injury."

Ah, possibly out for 6 weeks then. Gutter but at least he's not out for the season.

:(

Blow to any chances he had of going to the Euros. Chin up Besty.
Before that why didn't the Wigan fans just walk the the Stewart's, the Stewart's only went up to the touchline, their was a big gap between the end of the Stewart's and the stand they could have walked through.

I hate hate hate the divine intervention that keeps Shola in the 11-14 players that make it onto the pitch for us each week.
Pilko is too bright for such a young guy.

Should've forced the January move on him when we had the chance. :shifty:

Aye, the man clearly has incriminating pictures of everyone.

I'm sure if I became manager and brought him in to tell him he was surplus to requirements he'd casually just pull out some images of me doing something stupid years ago or something. He's like the guy from Sliver or something, just on a massive scale.

Newcastle United can today confirm that Leon Best has sustained medial ligament damage to his left knee.

The striker was forced off in the early stages of Sunday's home victory over Aston Villa, having picked up an injury while trying to get a shot away.

After being assessed by the Club's medical staff, Best underwent a scan on Tuesday and will be out for a number of weeks.

Poor Besty  :(

Just hope that HBA is promoted to 3rd choice forward (depending on circumstances obviously).  Shola getting more game time is a s*** thought.

Season is over basically by the time he gets match fit.

Shitty, he seems to have picked up quite a few knocks since he joined.

Not much of a blow for us, that's the advantage of having useful squad players in the team like him. nice guy and hardworking player, hope he comes back better from this.

Sorry for the lad but I don't think we need him that much. Ben Arfa should be the one to come on if we have to sub the Demba's.

Guess that means he'll miss out on the Euros too (shame, was looking forward to seeing him play in the summer!).
