NOFC vs Wimbledon Supporters - Saturday 29th January (FA Cup 4th Round)
« on: Monday 17 January 2011, 07:35:19 PM »
The Wombles are coming up to play Gateshead on Friday night and their supporters are coming up for a night out, they'd like to fit in an IFA game on the Saturday morning before they go home. Please put your name down if you're available to play.

As an aside, with NUFC not having a game that weekend, there's a great opportunity to go and sample some lower league action at the International Stadium on Friday night. See our resident Gateshead FC forumite for more info here

They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

Btw if anyone lives down south and wants a lift up I could possibly give them one, I've got a meeting at lunchtime on the Friday in Abingdon then driving home early evening.

Abingdon is hardly very 'south'. Would you consider driving to London as a minor detour?

I'm up for this but don't currently have any boots or shinnies up here. If anyone's got any that i could borrow i'd be very grateful.

Any position.

If 60miles away from the south coast isn't considered 'south' I don't know what is.

It's north of the M25th Parralel. It's more South Midlands than South.

Doesn't matter anyway, can't make it. Got stock take at work which means no days off and endless counting of kitchen units. What fun!

Updated, if you know lads off the forum who fancy playing (i.e. Steve, Pete) can you get in touch and confirm if they can/can't play. Would be good to get 11 confirmed ASAP

I know you've put me DL, which is fine, but if theres a spot DR, then I'd snap your hands off, on my natural flank an' aal that. Either way I'll try my best like, just need to remember to calm down on the ball and LEARN TO TAKE A THROW IN PROPERLY

I thought we weren't allowed to mouth of at other players? Flagrant double standards.

I know you we're not allowed to speculate on whether we might play but FWIW I'm playing football tomorrow, will see how s*** I am (not played for a while) before committing either way for this.

Aye I'll be there Stu.  Put me down as DM.

That said I'll play anywhere I'm asked to so that isn't too much of a bother.

Poor, at best. I expect better from you, Corrigan :undecided:

As for the gay 'patter' about "seeing how good/how unfit I am before committing" - I really don't think any of us mind too much about how good or bad you are on the pitch. It's all about getting lads involved - this includes you. :)
