Three days not sleeping, not eating, not feeling good any more, drenched in sweat and self-pity. It’s not a pretty sight.

I was running a lot in the summer. Started off doing 2-3 miles but by the time I stopped I was up to 14.

Gonna start up again as my weight has gone back up since I packed up. Need some new trainers though. Anyone know if there is a decent running app on the blackberry?

Funny when you're running and pumping at the same time. I always pretend it's propelling me to a higher velocity.

Who doesn't!

I can definitely run faster at night.  Anyone else experience this phenomenon?  Specifically when it's dark btw.

I sometimes run through Hollywell Dene (near the coast) when it's dark. I feel like some sort of gliding spirit at times... or that vampire running through the forest in Twilight  :cheesy:

Yes, and for longer. I once confided to friends about this and got called Nightshadow for a while, didn't mention it again.

A few times a week I do some sprinting at intervals. Long-distance stuff has my knees and shins in absolute agony.

A little bit, but I have much more motivation for weight training.

I broke all my IPods and find it difficult to run without them.

Badly cluttered forums are a disease, HTT's the cure is what I say tbh.

I like a little running, but do much more cycling so I have to ease myself in with a few gentle runs before anything big as my calves aren't used to the full extension. I'm going to be doing much more running in the next few months though as I've got a half marathon in May.

RunKeeper is great. Used it all summer. Highly reccomend it.

Granted, now it's winter I can't run for s*** on anything but a treadmill given how it's iceapalooza out there. :(

I use WalkMeter on the iPhone. Despite the name you can use it for walking, running, cycling, etc. Bizarrely it has an option to use it for swimming as well!

Always used to hate running when I was younger because I was crap over any sort of distance though alright at sprints. I started running regularly last year though, only tend to do a few miles but I've not been out for a bit due to the weather and I can't wait to get back into it. I don't mind running on a treadmill but it's much more boring, I like a bit of scenery to look at.

Anyone else race for club?
They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

X-country championships are not good fun. Did 10k in 47' which wasn't too bad given the conditions and the type of course.

Anybody tried running through the town? There's some superb hill climbs out there, with the best being The Wall from Scotwood Road to Westgate Road (at Westgage Sport Centre) and from below the King Edward Bridge (Gateshead side) up to the top of Bensham Bank.

Highly recommended for runners looking to improve stamina or any nutters!

start of The Wall

Riverside to Bensham Bank
