Late reply reply. ;)

I wasn't getting that particular problem as shown in the screenshot because I'm not on Chrome. Was getting the same as your RAWK screenshot there, only in FF.

I'm not.

I just mean the problems I was getting at that time were like your example rather than that of Decky.

Oh right, sorry. Of course you weren't.

It was down.

Anyway, it's back up now. What's your RAWK nick?

Anyone know why the run extensions in incognito mode has been removed/disabled? Is it still an option elsewhere?

Specifically Stylish for Semi's little ditty.

Me, too. I think Google have "over-optimised" Chrome.

You have to specifically enable extensions for incognito mode: many of them would present an information leak. Got to Window -> Extensions, and then click the arrow to the left of the extension's icon. An "Allow in incognito" checkbox should appear. Then you should, somewhat obviously, check the checkbox.

That checkbox ain't there anymore. Not on mine anyway. Most extensions are automatically running in incognito, I only really want Stylish though which is not appearing in Incognito.

Anyone have any idea why my Shockwave Flash Player keeps crashing? It's the most up to date version and crashes at seemingly random times about once a day.

Probably because Flash is a piece of s***, written by untrained monkeys. Hell, Apple had to completely redesign Safari because Flash Player was causing almost all the crashes.

Flash is always the culprit for weird stuff happening on my Mac.

No, it isn't. The Flash Player for OS X is a steaming pile of s****.

Don't think for a second that because it runs okay on Windows, it runs okay on Mac (or Linux for that matter). It doesn't, and it's entirely Adobe's fault for writing crappy software. HTML5 doesn't have performance problems. SVG doesn't have performance problems, and JavaScript doesn't have performance problems. Only Flash. Because it's a honking wodge of turd.

You can two hours more battery life (i.e. 50% more) by turning off Flash while you're browsing. Flash (along with Adobe's other software, like Acrobat Reader) has an appalling track record for security, and Adobe's record of fixing the security holes is far from stellar. Finally, Flash cookies are a great way to track even users who carefully delete normal tracking cookies because they're much more difficult to get rid of.

Since Adobe bought out Macromedia, they've been doing exactly what Microsoft did when they had no competition: making crappier and crappier software. Even Photoshop has been going downhill, as Adobe replace its once great UI with half-arsed custom bullshit.

Why all of a sudden can I not see my taskbar in Win 7 when I have a Chrome window open, but if I open up other programs it doesn't hide the taskbar? Why is this Chrome specific? ???

UPDATE: I've auto-hide the task bar now and so now I can bump the taskbar when Chrome is maximised so should be sorted.
Still if I chose to stop auto-hide of the task bar it totally disappears in Chrome only as if I'd chosen to have Chrome fullscreen when in fact it's only maximised.

It has also for some reason decided to stop showing onscreen notifications when I increase/decrease the volume, turn on Caps or Num Lock (I don't have lights on my laptop informing me if these are on off, I only get little images on the screen whenever they are changed. I could do with the volume and Locks notifications back.

Anyone?

Stopped on it's own today. Taskbar is back along the bottom uncovered by Chrome.

Not sure what it was, a couple of other problems started last night such as the shutdown button not working so no idea what it was. Probably a separate issue.

Aye, I was thinking that. See how much longer I can get away with it. It's only 14 months old.
