I'm well (haha) up for this. If we're stopping in Glasgow, the etap hotel is literally 45 quid for a 3 bed room. Stopped there for the Rangers friendly and it's bog standard but perfect for a night out. Casino is 50 yards away too if we stroll when we get back from a club.

I've got a ticket for the SMB game though so it would be a very early return on the Sunday...which I cant really see happening!

If anyone is planning to stay over, Premier Inn have got a sale on rooms.

You can get one at Glasgow South (one of the few that has a car park) for £19 for two people on the 15th of Jan.  20minute drive to Motherwell according to the AA and not too far from Glasgow city centre either.

I've heard that spooning activities have gone on in the past, so double rooms are available.

Right best i can do is.

08:57 arr at the train station... can any of there team or or team get me a lift to the game?

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.

Is it like a pub team? I wouldn't mind playing tbh for NOFC.

It is very much pub team standard, and a s**** pub team at that. There are no regular fixtures only the ones that we (Stu) arranges against other IFA teams, usually against the supporters of whoever NUFC are playing but sometimes against other teams that are in the area, like playing at Gateshead. we've played some home and away games and it's a good craic. Anyone off here is welcome to come and we often need to draft people in last minute due to some very unreliable forumites.

This game against Motherwell is a bit different, it's a  voluntary cup we've entered organised by the Internet Football Association (IFA) and we've been drawn away to Motherwell and have until the end of January to play it. If we win we are away to AFC Wimbledon in the next round.

Just keep an eye on this section of the forum and get involved.

How's the Team looking for this one? We seem to be struggling to get people for this one, so far. Unsure if I can make it (will see if someone can cover the U8's game that day), but it'd be decent if people can confirm (one way or another) so we can give a heads up to ourself and the opposition.

They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

I'm certainly up for this. If I can get a couple of you lot (Kev/Slim/James/anyone else???) who are willing to chuck about 20 quid petrol in each (bear in mind i'll be driving up from boro too), then I dont mind doing the drive.

Would just be a day trip though. NOFC, then Motherwell match, then back to toon.

Sounds good to me. Would need 2 cars going from Newcastle.

Could see if the Liverpool lads fancy it.

Pretty unfit at the mo, but I'll be up for it.

Although, I'll only go if I can get at least two others in the car, splitting petrol costs.

Same as Nick, I'll stay for the Motherwell game and back home.

It looks as though we're going to have at least two cars driving up from Newcastle on the Saturday morning, so it's a great chance to get involved with NOFC if you usually struggle to make away games
