I love how people were all for bringing Bellamy back but won't take Given.

I´m a big fan of Shay and appreciate what he did for us for 12 years, but his time at Newcastle is gone and Tim Krul certainly deserves his chance in goal right now.
Yup. Agree with this.

How? Given would only be here 1-3 months in a situation where we could do with a keeper.

Actually I answered that myself, but put that as a reason why we should get him if it is possible.

Harper would top himself.

Just what I was thinking.

It looked like a painful injury, and this would be a kick in the bollocks for the lad.

I imagine emergency loans last the length of time the injured keeper is out, so wouldn't have any baring on Harper at all really.

I can't see any similarity to being linked with Bellamy other than they're both former players.

I don't think they were seriously suggesting Steve Harper would attempt suicide.

People are having a go at the way Given left the club, Bellamy left the club in a far worse way, and yet people would have been happy to have him back.

Think it's a case of time being a healer.
Before that why didn't the Wigan fans just walk the the Stewart's, the Stewart's only went up to the touchline, their was a big gap between the end of the Stewart's and the stand they could have walked through.

Personally can't see Man City wanting to loan Given out to one of their rivals for the European spots.
sicko2ndbest likes to think he knows what "semblance" means, but he doesn't.

We have to show faith in Tim even though Shay is better than any of our keepers.

No chance, Krul deserves his chance and has waited long enough for it.
"Hello, Bobby," he once greeted his England captain, Bryan Robson.

"I'm Bryan," the skipper replied. "You're Bobby."

If something happens to Krul then we can go looking for a emergency loan keeper, as it stands I don't see an emergency and don't think we should rescue Given from the bed he shat in.

He was bullied out of the club by that c*** Souness. Given asked to leave.

Bellamy never wanted to leave the club, just get away from the t*** Souness, and with very good reason.

No way should we rescue Given from his massive, massive wages.

He was bullied out of the club by that c*** Souness. Given asked to leave.

Given didn't even have the decency to ask to leave until the club basically refused to transfer list him.  Given wouldn’t ask for a transfer because he didn’t want to give up his percentage of the transfer fee.
"Hello, Bobby," he once greeted his England captain, Bryan Robson.

"I'm Bryan," the skipper replied. "You're Bobby."

Unbelievable!

I don't see the need to sign another player to sit on the bench. Let Soderberg sit on the bench, if something happens to Krul, then bring someone in. It's not like it takes all that long to get a s*** old keeper in on loan.

This. I don't have a problem with Given like some on here, but now is Krul's time to shine.
"We make you feel good about yourself. “Oh well,” you will say when you glance around your settled squad of players, your suited and booted chairman who drinks orange juice in the stand and your manager who has been in charge for three years. “It may all be quite sensible and a bit mid-table here, but at least we are not Newcastle.” It is nice to make people feel good about themselves." Are we sure Given's got over those pesky knee injuries he had towards the end of his time with us?
