Yet you've got "Ashley Out" as your custom title? ???

We're where we are despite of Ashley. We've had a huge amount of good fortune. Make no mistake; we could have done a Leeds and he'd not have shed a tear. Still has a huge way to go.

Of course the club was a f***ing joke. There were plenty of players and fans who knew that and didn't run away at the first opportunity, though.

He achieved nowt in that 4/5 months that he could have from moving in the summer. I'll not boo him, but I won't change the past either.

The players you refer to WOULD have left us - and in that January - given the chance. Given lived and breathed this club and was genuinely sickened by what was happening (KK departure, Kinnear etc).
The idea that with him we'd not have been relegated is also garbage. He wouldn't have  converted the chances  (eg vs Portsmouth) which Owen bottled.

I'm going to man the f*** up and applaud him for what he is - a Newcastle United legend.

I'll applaud him for having the temerity to play behind Alan Hutton and James Collins every week.
Before that why didn't the Wigan fans just walk the the Stewart's, the Stewart's only went up to the touchline, their was a big gap between the end of the Stewart's and the stand they could have walked through.

Probably in the minority but still cant forgive the way he left. Jumped the sinking ship and the paddys he's thrown when Harpers been in his place previously isn't something I would clap the guy for. He's been a great servant to Newcastle for a good portion of his career yes, but lets not forget for a good part of that time we certainly weren't crap and he would have been very well looked after financially, it's not like he did it to be a good guy for us.

If he really wanted out then I see no reason why he couldn't have been straight up with everybody else and agreed a deal then to join them in the summer, to see the season out and do his best to keep us up.

Anyone else think he looked a bit nervous today?

Got a nice reception from the Gallowgate and a bit of banter with the dodgy keeper chants.

He was so far away from Cisse's shot it was hilarious.

Funniest thing I've ever seen. LOL.
"I took the decision to resign in September 2008 only after very careful and anxious consideration. The decision to resign was one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever had to take in my life. I believe that anybody who knows me and my attachment to Newcastle United and the North East in general will understand how difficult this must have been. I very much hope that the decision of the Tribunal now confirms why I felt that I had no option but to resign from the position as Manager of the Club that I love."- Kevin Keegan speaking on 02/10/2009

He wanted out because Ashley had "wrecked the club" IIRC. I wonder what he's thinking now looking up at us from 13th in the table?

You'd be nervous if you were playing behind Richard "ah s***, that's my net isn't it?" Dunne.

Probably thought he'd get more time at City before Hart became just immense.

They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.
