The players you refer to WOULD have left us - and in that January - given the chance. Given lived and breathed this club and was genuinely sickened by what was happening (KK departure, Kinnear etc).
The idea that with him we'd not have been relegated is also garbage. He wouldn't have  converted the chances  (eg vs Portsmouth) which Owen bottled.

Probably in the minority but still cant forgive the way he left. Jumped the sinking ship and the paddys he's thrown when Harpers been in his place previously isn't something I would clap the guy for. He's been a great servant to Newcastle for a good portion of his career yes, but lets not forget for a good part of that time we certainly weren't crap and he would have been very well looked after financially, it's not like he did it to be a good guy for us.

If he really wanted out then I see no reason why he couldn't have been straight up with everybody else and agreed a deal then to join them in the summer, to see the season out and do his best to keep us up.

They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.
