"I took the decision to resign in September 2008 only after very careful and anxious consideration. The decision to resign was one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever had to take in my life. I believe that anybody who knows me and my attachment to Newcastle United and the North East in general will understand how difficult this must have been. You can pick up the full box set for around £50 from HMV if I remember correctly.  It's worth its weight in gold.  Brilliant show.

Ignore whatever anyone says about the ending and make your own mind up.  You can put the dots together in a number of ways, but I know where I stand on it.

It means sit on this, cocksucker!!

Fantastic series, sensational characters although I think The Wire just trumps it. Just.
You were supposed to be the chosen one!

Never really saw the big deal, imo.

Meadow was some s***, though.

I've just watched season 4, 5 and 6 after a few years gap. f*** that was good.

BIG SPOILER ALERT.
Spoiler

My initial reaction to the final scene was that it's just meadow, or it's not. The amount of times he looks up, and the few different people that the camera hints to being the person to kill him is just there to show that death can, and will come from any and every angle. Exactly as he himself said to Paulie a few scenes earlier. I don't buy this, he looks up it goes black because he's killed s*** for a second. Lazy imo. I'd like to hear what you all thought, though.

Spoiler
I find the fun fact that the only persons who knows how it really ends are David Chase and the vocalist of Journey.

On that note, the fact they've said they're still looking to make a movie one time in the future really does imply he's not dead as what movie would it be without him? Unless they plan to put its action taking place before the end, but that would be s***. In general I think a movie could be s***, so I hope they never get their act together and do it.

I spoke to Vinny Vella last night. A few of the cast members (including James G) were approached in April about doing a movie.

The idea of a movie worries me. Even if it's brilliant, it'll either be like an extended episode and it wont feel like a film, or it'll be more akin to Scarface/Goodfellas and lose The Sopranos feel. It'll take a genius to skate the fine line between the two and still make it worthy of the series.

Easily the best TV show ever made, IMO.

Aye, from what I've seen so far, which might be the 1st season and a bit of the 2nd season (spent the last hour skipping through episodes trying to remember where I was), its class. I love all the older mafia/mob movies, so a TV set around 'modern' times is a great idea. The whole idea of a modern mob is just fascinating to watch, as they try to get through life with their 'old ways' in a world that has forgotten them and doesn't consider them a danger.
