£60-80 each if we got a NOFC team. Would probably want to play another IFA team like (and on a weekend)
They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

You only get a 60min match, but when you consider the size of SJP and most people's fitness levels (or lackof), I'd be amazed if people lasted that long!

Got to be a big fat yes. I'm sure there would be a load of people wanting to play if this happened.

Well if there was enough genuine interest, you could easily get this booked as the Newcastle-Online end of season match and drinks. Those that want to pay and play can have the match, then we all meet in Shearer's post match for a few drinks and a chat. Would need Rich/Dave/etc involved and we'd most likely need a weekend slot.

Would jizz in my pants. Shame it's only 60 minutes though.

Tbh... £1k divided by 25... that's £40 a pop if we make it Red/Blue rather than NOFC. It's a Sunday anyway so there's no away teams coming up then. Plus, in that case (given the interest i reckon we'll get from people) - there's no one paying up £80 and only playing 5 minutes.

Just a thought.

Oui, would assume that it's £1000/£1100/etc per team per slot. So working on the basis of 15 players per 'squad' = £66.67 each. 11 starters, 4 rolling subs @ 2 every 10minutes = guaranteed 40mins (4 players play 50, or 8 players play 45 - assuming GK plays all game).

I'd happily pay £67 for 45 mins on SJP

Aye so would i. I just reckon it'll take an NOFC opponent quite a bit of convincing, given it's on a non-matchday aswell. You see what i'm saying.

But anyway, like i say. It was just a thought.

???

Was working on the proviso that this would be some sort of end-of-season Newcastle-Online shindig, with 30 of us on here willing to get involved and those who can't afford to or don't fancy playing meeting in Shearer's bar afterwards for the post-match drinks & food.

Seeing as how it's not on a match day, etc.

I haven't at all! Not that it matters - but i'm not having that. When i read that post of yours, that one i've quoted, i assumed that your idea was to get an IFA opponent to SJP. Which i disagree with, i doubt we'd manage it... and is why i went on about doing exclusively Newcastle-Online instead.

What did you actually mean by that comment (would probably want to play another IFA team)?

I've never really posted much here, but I'm glued to the forums, reading them all day every day. Do I still count as part of the community? If other people are more deserving of game time, I don't mind. I'll still come for a pint or ten with you all at the end.

Very exciting idea.  :celb:

I'd be up for this, try and get a slot early on in the time period as when I played a couple of years ago we had one late on and after most of the games had been played on it there wasn't much grass if any on the pitch at all. The money the club makes probably pays for the pitch to be relayed.

Red VS Blue on this would be amazing.  Helps NOFC get noticed by the vlub a little more maybe?

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.
