Sunny Clubbing Holiday
« on: Tuesday 12 January 2010, 07:10:38 PM »
Where is best? I.e Value for money.

We (the lads) are planning on going away for a week in the summer. I've heard Ibiza is cheap to get to but an absolute fortune when you're there. Has anyone got any advice they could give?

Cheers.
Missed it at the match, didn't even see Tiote running towards us.. I was facing the other way shaking the handlebars in a blokes mobility scooter behind me as we were screaming at each other
turned around to see them all lying on the deck.

Paid something around £400 self catering for 2 weeks in Faliraki which was OK. I'd look at basically all other greek islands before Rhodes/Faliraki though, shithole, the actual bars were cool but it's full of arseholes.

Most of the greek resorts are a bit scummy (Kavos, Laganas, Faliraki, Malia, Kardamena). Generally because they know a load of p*ssed up 18-25's are going to turn up and blow a fortune no matter what the conditions as long as the drink is cheap, the weather is hot and the birds are easy.

I've been to all the above (although not all with the lads) and I'd reccommend Laganas as the best. Although if you want clubbing in it's most literal sense then you have to go to Ibiza. I've never been but my wife went twice and said it was excellent. If you just want to get p*ssed and shag birds then any of the major resorts in the Med will do.

I feel a poll coming on. Where's best??

Ibiza
Magaluf (Majorca)
Playa de las Americas (Tenerife)
Kavos (Corfu)
Malia (Crete)
Laganas (Zante)
Kardamena (Kos)
Faliraki (Rhodes)
Ayia Napa (Cyprus)
Any other?

Some lads I know went to Ibiza and still go on about it to this day. Not really my thing having seen them on TV they seem a horrendous way to spend your time.

Ibiza is beautiful away from the charva areas and even San Antonio has the benefit of Sunset Strip.

If it's lads on the lash/ pull holiday, Magaluf will always be a good laugh.
You were supposed to be the chosen one!

If you're trying to pull then go for Shagascruff.

The decision to resign was one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever had to take in my life. I believe that anybody who knows me and my attachment to Newcastle United and the North East in general will understand how difficult this must have been. Definitely agree about Ibiza.

I went to Kardamena in 2000. It was a lot quieter and seemed cleaner than Kavos. Still had a decent time. If you are going with a group of lads it doesn't really matter where you go, you'll get so smashed that you won't remember much about it.

Have to agree with Nixon on Ibiza, not really my scene. I'm not into the clubbing malarky, it seems like hard work. All that dancing. Give me a noisy bar with loud music (preferably live) where I can stand, drink, and nod my head as close to the beat as I can bearing in mind I'm smashed and have no rhythm.

How old are you's? Is it your first lads hols?

In all honesty, if theres a few of you's it wont really matter where u go - you'll have a class time. Maybes look somewhere out of the Eurozone as it'll be a lot cheaper when you are there.

Ive been to Benidorm, Magaluf and Tenerife, all were class hols and for different reasons.
Benidorm was the first lads hols and cheap as chips
Tenerife was a total pull fest
Magaluf had a good scene, tho we seemed to end up in BCM every fuckin night.
f*** off Mike Ashley.

20-24 years of age.

I'll listen to anything really, music-wise I can't really give a specific type that we all listen to. Dance music would probably be best for clubbing like, but maybe a bit indie sorta stuff too.

Ibiza for clubbing
Magaluf for women
[/fact]

Magaluf isn't the best for the muffins like, went last year and it was probably 10 lads to 1 lass ratio, so unless you're into the gangbangs its not the best for going on the old pull. Still a mint place for a holiday like, theres plenty of strip clubs to make up for the lack of women.

I have been reliably informed that Iya Napa (sp?) and Zante are the places to be.

Laganas is top class.

Plenty of totty and some good bars. Turtles are nice too.

It sounds to me your not really into the whole clubbing culture. So go to the Gulf, you lads will get a clubbing fix from the decent nights at BCM (a fair amount of UK DJs/nights will play Ibiza & then hit BCM 1 or 2 days later), Tokyo Joes/ Bananas will bang out the summer anthems when your on the strip on the lash until your back at BCM giving it large to resident Des Mitchell + guest DJs.

Pattaya, Thailand flights are abit more but beer is ALOT cheaper

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.

Cheers for the advice mate. Magaluf seems a popular option atm.
