They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh. Now, this is a hard choice. It is the wife's birthday on the 20th. When asked if she would like to spend her birthday in Newcastle the response was not the one I had hoped for, but nevertheless it was the one I expected. I need to do something special to get this one happening and make my NOFC debut.

What woman can resist a morning of the Pilko & Kezman comedy/love-duo?

Mate don't bring her, I'll just flirt outrageously with her, and she'll end up offended.

Well that counts her well and truly in then. Can't see her going for it though, need a plan of action!!

I'm thinking take her to the theatre during the week to butter her up. It's looking like I'll have to make the debut in the Red/Blue fixture on the 6th, but don't count me out just yet, I may just stroll into view on the horizon. Look out for a tall round shaped individual with a southern accent.

Go on then

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.

Well, whatever. Red/Blue or against Barnsley doesn't matter. I will make it up for one of these games.

See the football forum for the Red/Blue game discussion - this thread is for registering your interest in playing against Preston on Sat 20th. Further NOFC games will be made available (such as Barnsley) in due course.
I imagine that we wouldn't play a Reds vs Blues match on the same weekend as a confirmed NOFC match but its proving a bit difficult finding an upcoming Saturday home match. Potential for the weekend of Cardiff (if they aren't bringing an IFA team) but this will be discussed in the Red/Blue thread in Football.

I don't find out my shifts until 3-4 weeks in advance so won't be 100% yet, but my boss has pretty much guaranteed I'll be off for all Newcastle home games so it's highly likely.

From the Peterborough game there's Nick, Bowlingcrofty, Pilko and Burnip yet to register interest here. I'm fairly confident the first two will be in cos i spoke to Nick a while back regarding this date (originally Red/Blue) and he said they'd be available. Will Burnip be in the US?

Pilko - sort your s*** arseface.
