Another receiver would be awesome. Baba I've had to reject your trade for that precise reason. I'd love AP but if I take that trade I'm woefully short at receiver.
I'm very willing to part with either Mason of Baltimore, Nicks of New York, or Moss of Washington. Would this be enough for you?

So yeah, Peterson is transfer listed for the right amount.

Probably yes. Nicks would be the favoured choice of that 3.

So Baba's deal is AP for Nicks + Steven Jackson?   :kasper:

I can't beat that.

Oh aye, cos the Lions are so much better.

Aye he could be a great pick-up though in all seriousness, was shocked he went for so little. Thought I'd chance my arm though as you did try to trade Andre Johnson for Chad Pennington last year.

Bowe actually will do pretty well this year though IMO. He's the clear #1 in Kansas and has been good in preseason, with Jamaal Charles looking good I think Bowe will have chances to score points.

Wouldn't be at all bummed about getting Rivers though, looking at everybody's starting QB's and the prices paid he looks like terrific value. Schaub as well, don't think either of those will be far off what Manning/Brady/Brees/Rodgers put up. Actually reckon Cutler was a bit of a bargain for $12. He's s***, but in the offense he'll play in he'll still score points. Expect plenty of 300 yards for 3TD's and 3 INT games for  him. Not so good in real life, but racks up points in FF.

Looking at other teams, Antonio Gates for $14 was great value. Can't believe TE's were going so cheap. DeAngelo Williams for $25 was the steal of the draft, everyone was just so confused as to what was going on I think. Roethlisberger was a phenomenal pick for $1, and Malcolm Floyd I think was a great pick for $7.

Chicago Shearer has the strongest looking team on paper, IMO.

I'm happy.  Brees/Colston is a fantasy gold mine, Gore is in an even better offense this year, Greg Jennings is a top 10 receiver, then Maclin ($2!) or Knox as the 3rd receiver.

Not sure about DeAngelo.  He's great value for money and potentially a top 5 back, but I'd rather have someone like Ryan Grant or Shonn Greene.  Jonathan Stewart will be robbing me of points all season.

And as for the D, I think the scoring favours tackling safeties.  Bell is quality.  Green Bay led the league last year in interceptions/fumbles recovered.

Rivers would have been my third choice behind Brees & Manning.  San Diego have a s*** easy schedule this year.

No AP for Rice + Nicks. I'm still interested in trading away Jackson though chicago.

PM'd you about Jackson, not sure what exactly you're looking for for him so I took a guess.

Ash, what do you want for Ryan Mathews?

Not really keen on letting him go but if you make me an offer I'll consider it.

Who?
They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

Baba, what's your opinion on Dwayne Bowe?

My main opinion is that I don't know who the hell this person is. I see he is on your team though, and the ESPN fantasy thing tells me that this: "What we got instead was an undisciplined guy who came to training camp overweight, didn't score a touchdown after Week 7, led the NFL in dropped passes and earned a four-week suspension for using a banned substance.".

Why do you ask, though?

Trade related thoughts...

Was poor last year alright, I'll assume that you're not interested from that response.

 Honestly, I'm wary of trading with you or chicago_shearer because you both really seem to know what you are doing.

Anyway, I'm a bit paralyzed until QBG accepts or rejects my trade.

Would I ever steer you wrong?

Just asking anyway because I reckon he'd be a good addition to your WR group, which is weak. Bowe is erratic, but he's the clear #1 option for the Chiefs at WR so he'll get plenty of balls thrown his way and is a good redzone target. I'm looking to shop him because i got Garcon way cheaper than I expected he'd go for and got Jacoby Jones, who I think could be a breakout player this year, in as well.

So Bowe is a bit surplus to requirements but thinking he still has some good trade value.

Right, myself and QBG have agreed on a trade. Usually the League Manager makes the decision on whether a trade is realistic or not, since that's me I'll put it to you guys and see if anyone has an issue with it.

Trade is

Gloryhunters receive...

RB Steven Jackson
QB Matt Hasselbeck

Newcastle Knights receive...

QB Joe Flacco
RB Michael Bush
WR Dwyane Bowe
TE Visanthe Shiancoe

Seems fair enough. You really wanted to shift Bowe. QBG, I would only have interest in acquiring Rice and Johnson, so I guess our trade is off.

Mike Ashley rejected the fire out of my trade like ten minutes after the draft.

Well 11 more days then it's off to florida we go for a fortnight.

I've got a pretty diverse start to the new season. Week 1 Fins V Bills huddled in front of a 10 inch laptop in a Copenhagen hotel room prior to departure, Week 2 Fins v Vikes, probably the Miller Ale House in Lauderdale. Week 3 , Sunday night football against the Jests, Dolphin Stadium upper level sideline  :celb:

Bills are going to thrash them so thoroughly you might just cancel the entire trip. :snod:

Myself and a friend have had a plan for about 5 years to go to the Broncos-Bears game in Denver next season. This was well before all the Cutler s*** happened... could be a pretty tasty game to end up at.

Sounds class that Mick, hope you have a great time.

Bills after Leinart!

Is it sad that I'm so unbelievably excited?

 I remember when Buffalo got Bledsoe and I was like "YEAH!"
