At present, this is all I have;

Had to sell all my gear when I lost my job, but I kept onto my Fender JA90, wouldn't ever get rid of it.

As soon as i'm back to work, this is what i'm after;

Orange PPC 212 cab

Orange RK30H Rocker heed

and just for the sake of buying another guitar, a Epiphone Es-333 Tom Delonge Sig

Is that a Telecaster with P-90s?

If you are unemployed and can play the guitar you need to get yourself to Tynemouth market at the weekend and play at the top of the stairs.

At the moment I have a '98 American Strat, an Epiphone SG with P90 pick up that I'll never get rid of and a cheap Yamaha acoustic. I desperately want a new amp, but I'll have to wait until I'm settled in. I can't wait to start looking in Japanese music shops, for some reason I imagine them all having amazing Danelectros. Mmmm.

Btw foon, that Tom Delonge Sig looks absolutely lush. I never knew the man had such taste.

I adore the Tele sound so there's no doubt it's amazing - but from a purely aesthetical point of view - that Telecaster is just fabulous, Foon. I usually hate that 'cello' sorta design - whatever the hell it is - the curly thing on the body. But that just looks amazing.

I'll keep that in mind.

It sure does, I don't think it's that much of a dynamic guitar but the sound it does have is quite warm. Not a bad price and it looks lovely. I've played the Squier Tom Delonge strat and liked it alot, but I don't know where the hell i'd find one of them now.

It really does stop everybody in their tracks at a jam, my girfriend said my bands sound was noticeably different when we used it. It is a beautiful looking thing too, aparently they are phasing out the trans black and bring out a natural finish, which would be lovely.

What's nice is that it's a Tele and yet it doesn't have that really, really poxy pickguard which just stops dead - if you know what i mean.

Always loved the sound but always sorta hated that design.

Can anyone tell me what Tele design this is? Looks similar to yours, Foon:

recently I've developed huge respect for the Edge (since I saw it might get loud - if you like the guitar see it!) and I love what he does with respect to effects. Been playing with a lot of delay at the moment as a result

I have a bit a of a problem with U2, but I do like the running delays that he uses.

I always laugh at this though:

I do something similar, I play the intro to Where The Streets Have No Name and when anyone asks what ot is I tell them it's every U2 riff ever recorded. Same if i'm talking about U2, I say that I love that ONE riff the Egde uses all the time. :laugh:

It's getting used everywhere at the moment mind. Its in that Temper Traps song, and on a canny few Delphic songs. It's nice effect, I just generally cant deal with U2 at all.

I used to be the same, then I seperated the fact that Bono is the singer in U2. Now in my mind, the singer is Paul Hewson, Bono (international statesman and man of mystery) is an entierly different person.

If you like delay work, check out The Mercury Program.  Tom, the lead guitarist, uses delay almost exclusively and is one of the many aspects that give them their signature sound.

Any guitar techies around on here?
I hae a Vintage535 semi acoustic and one of my volume controls is loose and wobbly when its turned on full.
It doesnt seem to affect the volume or anything else Ive yet noticed. Would it be worthwhile getting fixed? Im guessing it'll be canny expensive. Looking at the body its been made around the internals and I cant see anywhere you would be able to get into it and take out the controls beneath to fix it anyway.

I would imagine (but don't hold me to it) that the nut under the controll is a bit loose. I think it would be worth taking to a tech to have a look at. Can't imagine it beeing too expensive to fix. However, if it's an internal problem it could be expensive.

I agree, it shouldn't be anything internal, just the volume pot coming loose and needing tightened.

That song has some small bit of credibility if you play it right. More than likely if you play it people will throw stuff at you
