Been playing G&L Legacy lately.

Also have a Musicman Axis and a Lace Cybercaster amongst a couple of others.

Only acoustic i've got is a Gibson Dove, similar to AS9's but it's got a Dove on it! Mine's a 1969 though, so a couple of years older.

Got my Fender in the corner and I really oughta use it more. Got a Tanglewood acoustic I play more regularly like, think I'll make more of an effort to use it more over the coming weeks and months.

Matt Bellamy is my answer in terms of famous guitarists. But that's perhaps more the fact that for my era of growing up, i.e. born in 1990, he is a standout musician; very rarely can someone sing, play guitar, piano and write music quite so brilliantly.
Got a vibrtating love egg stuck in wor lass last night. The string snapped to get it out. It was remote control so I kept turning it on, then i realised she was nearly crying. Had to fish it out. Never mind.

I looked the devil in the eye, went home and jerked off. That's standard procedure.

Just been playing/re-learning some old Megadeth songs for old-time's sake. That is some hard s***. And it means you can't play anything else but insane, 100mph thrash for the rest of the day.

I'm looking to get rid of my Guild 12 string, but I can't be bothered with the hassle of an online sale and while I don't want a great deal for it, I don't want to drive all the way to some shitehole like Cash Converters to be told that my £560RRP guitar is now worth £35 :)

Does anyone know of any guitar shops around Newcastle which will make me a reasonable offer for this sort of thing, or is the horror of ebay my best bet?

They are actually a nice guitar to play. They look awkward but they're not.

It all ends here.

Got an acoustic for my birthday but shamely I've hardly picked it up. Would really like to learn but it's just actually finding the time to get into it.

As much as I love Oasis, you can play alot of songs by using Em7, G, Asus4,Dsus4 and Cadd9. Actually that's Wonderwall, D'you Know what I mean?, morning Glory and Talk Tonight soted for you.

It all ends here.

That sounds all very impressive, but for the sake of Tooj, what it means is that Noel generally can't be bothered to move his index and/or little finger during a song, preferring to just leave them anchored at the third fret on the top two strings.  The lazy f***er :)

f***ing superb songwriter, Noel Gallagher. You don't have to like him - or his music either, tbh - but you can't deny he's blatantly a fantastic songwriter. There's better, obviously, and he's obviously not the most creative - but the stuff he does just works.

Serious danger of slipping into a heated debate here, which i'd rather not see happen to this thread, but that's just my opinion.

I'm not a fan of Oasis but Noel's acoustic stuff is really good. Have a show he did in Paris a few years ago and it's brilliant. Most of the songs are better than the originals and he actually sings them quite nicely.

You're going overboard. He's ok. I would class Oasis as good for what they are, a pub band. The music alone is just not very compelling with Oasis though, particularly the guitar work.

Can't really make my mind up about Zappa, some of his material is good but some is just downright awful. He's a very unconventional guitarist as well. Steve Vai was in his band as a youngster and transcribed his music.

Aye, even as a massive FZ fan I must say he put out some cak. But he has 60+ albums, so that's understandable. Absolutely changed my life, though, tbh. His guitar playing is like no one else's, really. He could do the bluesy traditional stuff, but often went for this very dense, slightly-confusing style which used a lot of strange phrasing, timing and tonality. However, for a more traditional solo I would recommend 'Sexual Harrasment in the Workplace', 'Watermelon in Easter Hay' and 'What's New In Baltimore' for starters.
