Not talking about serious workouts here, but it would be beneficial to meet up and have a session once in a while , for those that can make it anyway.

--------------Latest Info---------------------- (Rocker)

Hello fellas, havent posted for a while due to having very very limited internet access, but every now and then I get the chance to get on here, and alas, this is one of them.

Like to start off in apologising for my inactivity in recent months. I have been working ridiculously hard at work, and moved house twice ( both without access to the internet I might add).

However, I've managed to wrangle a regular spot at the JJB in North Shields, on Friday nights, at a very cut down price. Now I know we've been down this road before, and we didnt have a great turnout, but if this is a regular thing, every week at the same time, then I'm hoping after a few weeks it might pick up.

Like I said, I'm getting the pitch for very cheap, so regardless of how many people will turn up, I wont be making a great loss ( my mate works for the soccerdome and is giving me daft amount of discount)

I'd like some people to give me some timeslots though, would 6pm suit everybody or most? I'm trying to take into consideration peoples jobs, and travelling etc.

Just hit me back with some suggestions, like I said, regardless of how many turn up, they'll always be a core of players there, so if you cant make it, just say so.

Just it time to get some fitness up for the next game, eh lads?  O0

We haven't a clue who is going to be manager yet, just under the assumption that they'll let us wing it for the first few games before we're made to pick one.
Pilko is too bright for such a young guy.

Sunday afternoon training sessions?
They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

Would be up for it

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.

Sunday afternoon training sessions?

It would be better if they could be more accessible for those of us not in the area.

I think we should start training a week after the first teams pre-season starts.

Anyone fancy a friendly Amsterdam?

Could we not do training sessions/practice matches on home games where we have no game.

Howay man, at least quote the post you're copying...

EDIT: fyi, from the other thread

Training should be as serious as the players want it to be, if the team is about having a laugh and forging inter-supporter reationships then training might not even be needed. If the players want to see how far they can actually push themselves (bear in mind that there are going to be a few teams with some very good players in them), then training needs to be every week, with each individual responsible for improving & maintaining their own fitness.

Personally, I'd say organising a training session to co-incide with a home game (when we don't have a match) would be the best way to give the squad a chance blend without NUFC/NOFC becoming all-consuming...

For fitness I'm going to book out the soccerdomes 5 a side pitch out, and we can play our outfield 11, or just anyone we can get, against each other.

Are weekdays cool for people?

Actually mate, I reckon a saturday at the soccerdome would be better.

It's cheaper, and to be honest, I reckon the turnout would benefit too.

Can't do weekends (which would rule me out of the games anyways so don't listen to me lol)

Weekdays I finish work in Team Valley at 10 past 5, get to the depot by about quarter to 6, 6, then I could get home for about 10 past 6, quick bite to eat... 7 would be fine for me.

Could do with a bit fitness work, and I'm not the type to just go for a random run, I have to be playing a game, so even though I won't make the proper NOFC games I'll turn up to these sessions if they're through the week and make up the numbers, will benefit all concerned.

 :aww:

If you guys like, I run training for my sunday league team on a wednesday evening in toon. I'm sure the boys won't mind anyone coming along, it's £2 subs per training session, which goes towards the team. Could certainly do with some fundraising lol.

Hopefully someone will find it useful, and it helps us out too.
