What with all the 5 a side stuff this section is confusing me. Can anyone give me a quick outline of when any of this is likely to start, whether there'll be training and any other major things I'd be best off knowing? I'm definitely interested still, cheers.

i vote we contact Mike Ashley, to seek advice on organising a football team

Isn't Chris McGrail a league striker anyway?

Surf, check your PM's...!

I predict never.

We can't get 5 people to go to North Shields. The likelihood of us getting 11+ to play against actual decent teams, possibly even away from home.. is nil.

Could be if any of the people are like me, dont really get excited by playing 5 a side and having to go all the way to north shields to do it.  11 aside games against teams is much more exciting...altho the reason i did not come was i was i'll.

I think  people will turn up when it comes to proper training and games?

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.

We should be able to do it as in theory it's easier than an inter-forum game, it's just case of getting a few things out of the way. Once first games sorted we should be fine.

Pilko - did you get that email I sent to you, outlining the key things to get organised?

haven't heard anything back from you since, must have been 2 weeks or so by now...any thoughts/comments/acknowledgment?

Yes mate I did, I'm sure I sent you a reply, although it was to your work email.

Not had it mate  - can you resend pls?
They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

i have left a message hopefully have some news for you tomorrow. Chris magrall a leading striker i will tell him that he will be well pleased. No mate leading strikers don't miss pen and more importently miss from three yards witch he did in the final. He used to play for our youth team but he works in our media office now and iam faster than him and im 50 lol.

hI guys sorry been away for a while. Visited the first world war battlefields a couple of weeks ago that truely mess my head up for a few days then last week it was the Fans F A Cup final at leeds between West Bromwich Albion who beat Aberdeen at your training ground a few weeks ago ( i came up to watch) and ourselves. It was tense affair and i will put the match report on here if you want. Regarding yourselves i will make the call to the guy who said he would supply you with a pitch and then get you sorted. Lads don't worry about playing away games just get yourselves organized have a meeting or something and then play afew games when you can. It took us over 12 months to get sorted and then when we did everything started coming togther. On top of our cup final we played in the fans world cup. Trust me that is your goal to represent newcastle United in the fans world cup. Its the best weekend you will ever have in your lives and once you go you you will go for ever more. Stay strong boys and you will get there.

our match report from the final lol

Preston North End Supporters Team 1(8)7)1 West Bromwich Albion Supporters Team.

Preston completed the 2008/09 season unbeaten with a hard fought 1:1 draw against a strong West Brom side before going on to triumph 8:7 in a tense penalty shoot out that saw just three misses.

North End had the better of the opening exchanges and deservedly took the lead in the twentieth minute when a Chris McGrail strike illuded the Albion keeper.

The major controversy of the match came minutes later as a cynical foul on Jason Dodwell saw West Brom reduced to ten men with Andrew Dodwell following down the tunnel for getting involved in the discussions afterwards.

As ten against ten the game continued in much the vain it had done before and while Albion battled doggedly it was Preston who had the better of the few chances that were created.

With the half drawing to a close Chris Chambers went close but was denied by the Albion keeper and so a 1:0 lead was taken into the break.

After the interval North End started where they had left off and forced a couple of corners.

However, it would be on the counter that the next major incident would come. A seemingly innocuous tackle just inside the area was awarded as a penalty to Albion, much the surprise of almost everyone pitchside. The kick was duly converted to leave the scores level with half an hour to play.

Preston were not to be thrown by this and continued to push forward, forcing a penalty of their own ten minutes later. However a fine save denied McGrail and ensured that the battle continued.

With players tiring both sides made changes and this slowed the tempo of the game as the substitutes got up to the pace of the game. Chances came and went at both ends.

Extra time also started brightly for Preston with substitutes Matty Scott and George Pennington both having chances and the Albion keeper required to pull off a wonder save to prevent an own goal.

In the second half things became a bit more cagy but the energy of Jason Dodwell on the right was giving Preston the edge but the goal remained illusive.

Penalties were a tense affair and though Albion missed their second Preston missed the decisive fifth kick to take it to sudden death. With both sides holding their nerve and finishing cooly it was the tenth effort before the next miss came, the Albion lad dragging wide. Alex Higgins converted his effort to give Preston the trophy.

This victory sees Preston hold all four IFA honours and complete the entire season without defeat, becoming the IFAs first invincibles.

yeah we did. Stopped in the marriot in Leeds. The Cup Final is played the Friday before the fans world cup starts on the next day. We were in group 15 with Middlesbrough, York City and Yeovil Town. Our aim this year was to win the Fans F A Cup and luckly we did. After that we dind't really care. Our celebrations saw us spend the entire night in a strip club and both my keeper and center forward dissapered that night and were never seen again for the rest of the weekend lol. So basically our defence of the World Cup ended before it began, but winning the IFA Cup ment everything to us and like i say we did it by getting lucky in the pen shoot out.

Was going to post this last night but my fuckwitt of a father managed to break the internet...

Sent a "thanks for letting us in!" email to all the members of the worldnet2002 (the league) group, with a bit of info about N-O, some contact details and a brief outline about the whole reds vs blues etc.

Have just checked now and haven't had anything back - I'm going to contact Surf soon and get onto him about the training ground pitch and the kits.

I let Pilko know yesterday, but probably should have let you all know, that Kettering Town IFA are interested in playing you lot on 19/12/09. They're up here playing Gateshead on the Saturday afternoon and are probably making a weekend of it and going to NUFC v Boro on the Sunday. They seem to play pretty regularly, so it'd be a good opportunity to test your wits against another side.

Their forum is http://www.poppynet.co.uk/ if anyone is interested.

No worries mate, hope you get a game sorted. They're a good bunch, I met one of them randomly at a Toon away day and he was sound. I may even pop down to the International Stadium to watch their game.
