Welcome from Whitby Wanderers to a fellow North East side.

The Geordies may well be going through some self inflicted pain at the moment, but I'm sure they'll be many on here who are able to help some of them enjoy their fixtures in the Championship by adding the iFA element. The Championship always has been the best division for IFA football.

We're already thinking of an over-nighter when Watford play there in Decemeber - please pass on my details.

Is there any way the British Cup draw could be rigged so that Motherwell are away to Newcastle??? That would be a tremendous weekend. :-)

I pointed out to Gary that it was self inflicted by the club, not the fans ;)

We all wanted Shepherd out and liked Ashley coming in due to his money.  Wouldn' surprise me if other fans thought that tbh.   :dowie:

Lads tell me you wont be playing in your new away strip when you hopfully visit us PNE in November lol

Who thought that one up lol?

Just for the record the fans worldcup starts on Friday the 24th July and runs on all weekend. 64 teams from all over the world compete for the coverted tital of World Champions. It's a truely amazing experience and once you've been you are hooked for life. It's something you should aim for a couple of years time. Your neighbours Middlesbrough who won it in 1997 are tipped to have a good tournment this year. It last for 3 days and it starts with the annual England V Scotland International; you can see one of my lads scoring lol in this game on this link. Thanks again for supporting the fans football league. It's given us all a massive boost having the strong name of Newcastle United joining our ranks. I can't wait to see 11 newcastle fans running out in the famous Black and White shirts representing your club. I work for PNE media team on match days and as soon as you guys are up and running i will contact your media team and iam sure they will put the news on your offical web site.

West Bromwich Albion Calling

Are you planning on making the trip down to play us on 8th August? The kick off time for the big boys has been put back to 17:30 for live coverage on BBC so it will give you plenty of time to get down.

Let me know ASAP.

Cheers

Personally (and this is just me) - I think it would be best to do a few home games before we start thinking about aways.

I'll open that up to the floor...?

Ah well, fair enough. If there's enough people going down then I'll try and organize it.

Bear in mind I'm on holiday from 31st July to 23rd August, so anything between then I won't be able to help with.

They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

Evening, yes we're here!  ;-)

Glad to have you on board guys!  There's only been poor old Darlo from the North Eastern neck of the woods until Whitby joined the IFA a year or so back.  Boro enter teams into the WorldNet tournament that you'll have heard mentioned, but they haven't competed in the IFA league as such for some years now.  As for the Mackems, I don't think they've ever had a team in the IFA, you'll have to shame them into starting a team so you've got a bit of local rivalry up there.

I see you've found the IFA League Table, I'll point you in the direction of the main IFA and Worldnet sites too whilst I'm here so you can have a read up of what it's all about etc.

Main IFA Site:  http://www.internetfootball.org.uk/

Worldnet site:  http://worldnet.org.uk/

I know it must have been a heartbreaking season for you dropping down to the Championship, but you won't find a more evenly matched competitive league anywhere, better than that Premiership rubbish where it's pretty much a forgone conclusion between a few teams, although obviously we're all trying to get back up there for the money and prestige though!  The atmosphere is generally better too, apart from a few (like yourselves) the Prem is filled with "prawn sandwich brigades" and plastic fans that have only discovered they have a team when they reached the Prem.  In the Champ every team in general has a high percentage of "core" fans which have been there through thick and thin and not just when they're doing well like the Prem, hence the more devoted fans and better atmosphere, you'll love it honestly.

Anyway, back to business, the IFA is a fantastic league, it's not bound by the stupid rules that the local FA's make up and is more about the football as it's all about building bridges between rival sets of fans.  It's not uncommon for teams to lay food on at their local boozer after matches and all have a few pints together.  It is competitive though, there are some very good teams out there though with outstanding players that could potentially play at a higher level, Steve's (Surf on here) Preston team being a good example, winning all 20 of their matches this season.  But generally, matches are expected to be played competitively but fairly, handbags aren't tolerated at all.  Qualified refs are usually used if teams are able to find one, but if not then a representative from each team will usually ref a half each.  Subs are unlimited so that teams with big squads can give everyone a go etc.

Anyway, I'll stop babbling now!  If you're all organised by the end of October, then we'd love to host you down in Sheffield when our teams meet on October 31st (that's presuming SKY haven't selected for coverage and moved it to a stupid kick off or different day).  We play our games less than a mile away from junction 34 of the M1 so it's really easy for opposition teams to get to us.

I'll get in touch with the NOFC manager/heirachy via the e-mail address listed or on the IFA list anyway, but just thought I'd mention that.

cheers,

Danny B.

Cheers, you'll love it mate.  It can be hard work for the managers when you're organising pitches, opposition, refs, kit, balls and equipment, players (that's the hardest!), but once you get organised and have a "core" squad of players then it's a right laugh whether you win or lose.  Once you get established then get in touch with NUFC and make them aware of yourselves.  We get a bit of coverage from SUFC, we've had articles in the website and a few bits in the program, and even a kit sponsored by the "Superdraw" a few years back,  but I'm working on getting a bit more coverage... media whore in the making!

Once again I find myself referring to Steve (Surf) from Preston.  They may be an extreme example, but he's used Preston's training facilities numerous times I believe and has PNe's chairman phoning them up occasionally to wish them luck in their matches!  Although I'm not sure you'd be happy with that from Mike Ashley?  We played down at Crewe a few years back on their training ground, and Crewe had been hammered in their previous fixture so they were in early in the morning before the game on the Saturday, ended up with Dario Gradi and half the Crewe side watching our game against the Crewe fans!

Right, I'm babbling again... blame the vino!

Was going to post this last night but my fuckwitt of a father managed to break the internet...

Sent a "thanks for letting us in!" email to all the members of the worldnet2002 (the league) group, with a bit of info about N-O, some contact details and a brief outline about the whole reds vs blues etc.

Have just checked now and haven't had anything back - I'm going to contact Surf soon and get onto him about the training ground pitch and the kits.
