I had a 3rd gen I Pod but changed it for a Archos in about 05 and have stuck with them since. I find them so much more reliable than I Pods and you can just drag and drop stuff instead of downloading I Tunes, but I need a new player to use for the gym as the Archos is too big for that, it doesn't have to be big in capacity 4 gig would do just needs to be small, any ideas?

He wants the best quality media player, thus the sony. If he values apps and games then get an I pod. Its hardly a stuck record when dave says get a touch as he has it and likes it, when I have that and like it. Also I heard apple kill babies in China.

Where was this?

s***, aye, never did respond to the responses. Apologies.

After all that, I decided to pick up another ZV:M 2nd hand. Was on the verge of getting a Cowon S9, but decided against it, partly to save money, partly because I didn't like the fact the memory isn't expandable and partly just because I'm a bit p*ssed off with flash memory. I liked my workhorse.

Don't know how my original got broken but guess it involved getting sandwiched between 12 hardback books in a rucksack. Cracked LCD and seems unwilling to turn on. Annoying as there is some life in it, though.

Your poor usage of the iPrefix greatly annoys me.

My apologies Daniel but if you let such little things in life annoy you, you must live a very sad and depressing life or you may be developing a mild form of OCPD.

if you listen to music all the time like myself, stay away from the ipods. The battery always dies after a year or less and they always have some excuse as to why. c***s

Can someone answer my question: is it not about the headphones?

A lot of it will be, yeah. Can't believe the number of numbskulls walking around with the awful iPod earphones in. They don't even look remotely comfortable ffs.

I got the Bose QC3's cans and some Shure in-ear style ones. Each for different situations but i can not imagine there being much of a difference between players, for a given set of headphones. Those Bose ones could make a portable radio sound roomy.

Just found my old Zen Xtra after tidying the whole f***ing house. It's mashed, dents all over it, but it still works! 80gb of quality tunes!!!

I picked up some sennheiser in ear jobs for about £15 and the difference is incredible. Although I already wish I'd spent a bit more...

Oh, aye. I wouldn't exactly recommend it, but it's nice to have it back.

I've got one of these and it's canny.  Although I don't watch a lot of video on it.

I want one of these, although more for the built in NES, SNES, Mega Drive, Neo Geo, CPS1/2 emulators etc and the well supported homebrew scene than the video/mp3/radio stuff

Only thing that's turning me off it is that apparently the SNES emulator on it has some slowdown, but linux is in the process of being ported to it so I'm sure some better emus will be appearing.

Thinking of getting a new iPod to replace/supplement my current iPod Classic Silver 160GB.

is the iPod Touch actually any good or should I just get an iPhone?

I'm confused. Advice would be appreciated. :)

Well they're significantly smaller than your classic. Do you need all that space?

Not really. But I do have about 60GB worth of music, and would like to have photos/vids/podcasts too.
