That the Evoque you're waiting for insano? Saw one the other day, gorgeous thing.

I don't know what to make of if myself, I saw a 5-door one the other day which looks much better than the 3-door version in my opinion, but it still looked odd.

Overtook one on the Coast Road a few weeks ago now, with all my passengers laughing at it. Looked alright I thought. Quirky.

Yes it is the evoque i am waiting for and its a 5 door i am getting. If it ever arrives, projected date has gone back to 10th April, (i ordered it last june!)

I am currently running around in a hot rod of an x reg ford mondeo 1.8. Got it in september after the sciroccos engine expired in a cloud of blue smoke after only 12000 miles. The mondeo is ace!!!  £650 in sept it cost me, taxed to this july, half a tank of petrol, 99k miles, one owner from new, full (and i mean 100% full) service history. I dont care where i ark it, its practical, relaible and suprisingly good to drive. It did however cost me a whole £8 for parts to get it through its mot test.

I still have a vx220 too but it hasnt been getting used much lately, its not too good in the cold.
Three days not sleeping, not eating, not feeling good any more, drenched in sweat and self-pity. It’s not a pretty sight.

Why is it taking so long?

Mondeos are fantastic cars by the way, superb to drive, good levels of luxury and good engines. Oh, and cheap as chips too.

I remember when it came out replacing the dated Sierra, it was so ahead of its time, so well equiped with great engines, it transformed that partiuclar market and had BMW owners wanting to replace their cars for a Mondeo. I'm not keen on the current version mind, looks wise. In fact I'm not keen on any of the Fords these days.

The Vx220, what's that like? I bet its a huge deal of fun.

New Mondeo? Aston Martin front end there and Volvo esque back end, it also has some Volvo in the front end too. Looks better than current version, but still bland for me though.

What went down with the Scirocco? Mine's just about to hit 12k!

What even happens if a car dies during its warranty? Did they not replace it or anything?

Seen it last week and looks  a bit like the front of an aston DB

Actually, on that note whatever position Slim plays for NOFC, make sure he can take alot of shots, nearly broke my hand with one in warmup,  I took some shots of Steve Bowey (ex Bristol City, I think he took their set pieces) and Slims had far more venom in them.  Don't think I've experienced such a powerful strike before.

I am not exactly sure what went wrong, it was a 1.4tsi (160hp) basically the engine died for no particular reason and it was a full new engine job. Apparently its a known issue on 1.4tsi cars built during 2009.  VW were fixing it no hassle however as I was actually selling it privately and actually had an offer on the car the day it died i persuaded vw to buy it back off me as a goodwill gesture. Basically who would want to buy a car privately that had needed a new engine after only 12000 miles?

It had a few reliability issues during my ownership so i was best off rid of it to be honest.

Are you acutally the user Baronyx from the pistoheads forums?? you post in a very similar style.

Yes the vx220 is ace, its fast, has great handling, is fairly good on fuel and it turn heads. Its also bloody noisy, impractical and uncomfortable as an everyday car.  I am considering selling it fairly soon though as i dont really use it enough to justify keeping it.

Took the BMW out the other day, from a starting position, foot down, stopwatch on (mate timing me), 0-60 in just over 5 seconds. I'd love to put it on a track but I think I'd kill myself. Might take the chance in the summer, will put a few slabs in the boot first though  Scary scary car.

Official figures are always bullshit. According to official Saab figures my car will do 122mph max yet I've done 130mph. That said, when I'm driving my sat nav will say I'm doing for example 68mph yet my speedo will say 72 so...

The most I've got out of the BMW top speed wise was 80, I dare not go any faster because that back end, jesus wept. I've lost it only to regain it once or twice and to say its scary is an understatment. I remember my mechanic saying when BMW made that car, at the time, it was one of the most dangerous cars put into production. (He's owned a few) I have to wrestle with it just turning a corner. Its a pleasure to drive though and pisses all over the Saab in terms of fun and sheer driving experience.

Cars today are almost boring not only to look at but to drive, god knows how people reacted to the 635 when it first come out because today it just draws looks from all over. I love mine, when I slam that accelorator down the engine growls and the front seems like its about to take off, that and the back end sliding from side to side...

I think I'm gonna keep mine and hand it over to my son in 18 years time, god knows what it will be worth then.

effectively traded in our 7 year old mini for a 3 year old one of these - in terms of comfort it really is just like jumping immediately forward in time

I made it my quest to seek out and listen to all the great British bands from years gone by to see for myself. What I found was that although all these other legendary British bands were f***ing great, the difference was that they had in my opinion nowhere near the quantity of good songs that Oasis have. Even the Beatles.

I'm looking to get a Hyundai Coupe (not the current version but the one before it), can't get credit (the bad men are after me) so i'm currently locked down financially because i've also got a holiday to go to.

Anyway, has anybody have one before? if so how do they stack upto any other cars you've driven? I just want something pretty comfortable with something that doesn't look too much of a family car (the speed doesn't overly bother me as the insurance is still going to be about £130 per month itself anyway so the 1.6 is what i'm looking at).

Yeah they do that, petrol wise i'm not too bothered about, I don't do that many miles, usually to work and back, maybe to durham every few weeks. I looked at the Celicas but my sisters wedding abroad was sprung on me so had to re-evaulate what car I was going to get (had to drop down the price scale a bit, looking to spend around 2k instead of the 3/4 I was looking at). That and the insurance costs a bit more too, however if I found the right one I could still possibly be tempted, or any other coupe type could be considered.

is it under honda waranty? where did you buy it? dealers take the absoltue p*ss with servicing mind. Theres some independants that will stamp your book, and keep your service history updated. Do you have any issues with it?

The garage that sold us the car (befield motors) said they would do it but thought it would be better off at a Honda garage.
