Can't wait to read this book, the whole place absolutely facinates me.
Before that why didn't the Wigan fans just walk the the Stewart's, the Stewart's only went up to the touchline, their was a big gap between the end of the Stewart's and the stand they could have walked through.

Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.

I'd love to visit there.  I know I'd be escorted by guides and only see what they want me to, but even that sounds fascinating.

I'm the same; just bought myself a Kindle and 99p seems like a bargain for this from what's been said above!

I made it my quest to seek out and listen to all the great British bands from years gone by to see for myself. What I found was that although all these other legendary British bands were f***ing great, the difference was that they had in my opinion nowhere near the quantity of good songs that Oasis have. Even the Beatles.

I got it yesterday and have been reading it. Hasn't disappointed at all, absolutely fascinating place - the comparison to 1984 is spookily true.

Nothing to Envy is def worth a read if you're interesting in DPRK like. Good/harrowing read.

I read the sample on Kindle for Android, fancied more then realised it'd gone back up to £7 or something. Bah.

Just noticed the price had changed when I went to buy it, i'm slightly less inclined to now!  That'll teach me for procrastinating.

Paid less than that for the paperback from Amazon, week before Xmas though - don't know what they're charging now.

30% into nothing to envy and i've finally realised what's bothering me about it; she writes about events and describes things like she was there when she absolutely was not, she writes it like she's the north korean describing the surroundings or the things happening when she's clearly embellishing what she's been told by the people who were there and i'm 100% sure they haven't described things to her the way she says them

i don't like that for some reason, the stories and experiences themselves are fascinating but her style grates on me man

Half way through it and I find it both shocking yet compelling.  You know the main protagonists made it out of there so I don't have a problem with the way its written.  Just cant believe what some of them have been through (going through).

I dunno, for the main protagonists I'd imagine she must have spoken in real detail. On top of that she'll have spoken to many more defectors not even referenced in the book, all putting together a pretty vivid image.

Rumors going around that Kim Jong-un was killed, or is on the run after a successful coup. Not the first time these rumors have surfaced, though.
