I got a low fat one with chive & onion flavouring and it's pretty nice tbh, better than expected.

Is there any truth to the myth that you gain weight if you drink too much Pepsi Max?

I f***ing love the stuff, and drink 1-1.5litre a day.

Reason Im asking is that Im now into my 8th week of training 4 (2 strength sessions, 2 cardio sessoins) times a week, while also being a bit more cautious about what I eat, but I still haven´t shredded off any weight.

I didn´t expect miracles as I could still eat better, and I have also gone out drinking 3 times during those 8 weeks, but I still feel that I should have lost about 2 kg. So now Im wondering if I should quit drinking Pepsi Max, but I love it so much so if there isn´t any truth to it Im not doing it. Don´t care if it´s unhealthy in other senses due to chemicals etc.

Probably a rumour started by Coke Cola iyam.

Isn't Pepsi Max packed with sugar?

Pepsi Max is a low-calorie, sugar-free cola, marketed by PepsiCo as an alternative to Pepsi and Diet Pepsi.

I´ve heard/read that the body is somehow being fooled into producing fat by the sweetening chemicals or some s***.

Weighed myself yesterday for the first time in a year or so.  :'(

Can't believe I've let myself get this big again. A complete lack of restraint with food and a lack of effort with exercise. I'm disgusted with myself.  :fool:

I lost 4 stone while necking gallons of the stuff (replacement for full fat pop/alcohol). I'd say it's bollocks.

Perhaps a stupid point to make, but isn't it feasible you're not losing weight because you're replacing fat with muscle due to what appears to be a relatively heavy-ish training schedule?
Got a vibrtating love egg stuck in wor lass last night. The string snapped to get it out. It was remote control so I kept turning it on, then i realised she was nearly crying. Had to fish it out. Never mind.

I looked the devil in the eye, went home and jerked off. That's standard procedure.

Hopefully. If not Im f***ed

Think a good compromise is to just reduce the amount I drink based on the feedback in here. Cheers all.

First time I have been on this thread so haven't really read through what has been said, but in terms of loosing weight here is my advise:
You don't need to spend hours and hours in the gym or drastically change your lifestyle for weight loss. Most important thing is so send the right signals to the body and muscles throughout the day, try doing small periods of exercise throughout the day ie 10-15 mins or active exercises a few times a day, e.g. when you wake up, when your home from work, before bed ect.
This allows your body to become accustomed to a more active lifestyle, burning fat quicker and improving you're general well being.

Tried to go out and do my first run since the great north run last year, f*** man, it was far too hard. Legs are aching after about 20mins of running, what's that all about?

I've had loads more success with shedding a few pounds in recent weeks by doing weight training rather than just cardio. Only problem is the gym is so busy it can be difficult to get on all the machines, and I'm not really into the idea of free weights.

The more muscle you have the more energy your body will burn, people sometimes don't see it that way though and just stick to cardio.

Yeah I've always heard that but never really paid much attention as I find weights pretty boring. Definitely works though.

It was awful man, i've got some  serious work to get in, saying that, i've been proper slack this week (easy now) been eating crap, not been to the gym and i'm just getting back from a bad neck, plus it was windy..........Should have easily made it to 25mins without those ;)

I'll be alright, my running improves quickly anyway.

Other than running home from the gym (approx. 5 minutes) I've not done any outside running since the GNR. It's gonna f***ing HURT.

20 minutes is far too long to be running for in training for the GNR.

My friend from work started dieting/cutting down around the same time as me and we still go weekly (separately) to the Weigh House in the Grainger Market to get weighed. She went yesterday and the Hairy Bikers were in. They're doing a show about weight loss and one of them said he wanted to lose 2½ stone. So naturally she started dishing out random diet tips and mentioned how "Jill from work" has a spreadsheet and graph to keep track of her weight. How loserish does she want to make me sound?

Trying to lose half a stone before I go on holiday on April 2nd. Limited myself to 1500 calories a day, pretty hard tbh. Going to bed now because I've got no energy

Hopefully, i'll get used to it. Go to the gym 3 times a week and play 5 a side on a Wednesday so should be able to do it :)

If you don't have any energy, than you are taking a bad diet. It may help you lose weight, but it is not healthy for you.
