Hello there,

Now the server is moved there are going to be some major changes around here. The first thing we're going to do is design some new bits and pieces, the most obvious of which is the Newcastle-Online main logo.

It can be seen at the top left of the forum and currently it looks like this:



This is where you lot come in. We're looking for a new logo to use all over this website where necessary, and we're tonight launching a competition to find one.

The rules:

• It cannot contain any copyrighted images, so no direct use of the NUFC badge or anything like that.
• It must be relatively timeless, so please don't put Michael Owen in there...
• It must be a pretty big original image, so we can shrink it down as necessary. A vector would be ideal, so it can be used in our Shop too.
• It should be cut out and/or on a transparent background, so it can be neatly added to any other background.
• Post your entry in this thread. By posting a design for entry you are declaring you allow Newcastle-Online to take ownership of it should it win.
• A forum poll will be used for a final decision based on a shortlist decided by Admin.
• All Admin decisions are final.
• Closing date for entries is Sunday 21st December.

The designer of the winning logo will win a T-shirt of their choice from the Newcastle-Online Shop and obviously a shitload of kudos.

What do you mean for this mate? Just the little square images you'd use to directly link into the forum through the Touch/iPhone?

What do you mean for this mate? Just the little square images you'd use to directly link into the forum through the Touch/iPhone?

favicon-esque image 57*57 pixels called apple-touch-icon.png in the root directory. then when u bookmark this to your home screen on an ipod touch or iphone it'll show that logo. its so much better than what you get atm, which is just a logo that the iphone creates - just a tiny screenshot of the webpage.

The prob with anything using black and white stripes is that, if it's over anything but white or black, you have to put it inside some sort of shape.

I use my iPod Touch for browsing when I'm away/on trains and stuff, and have wondered about the images myself. Will be very nifty having our proper logo saved instead of the screenshot.
