N'Zogbia on the break, Martins ahead in space, doesnt look up, head down, tackled, wasted opportunity.

Duff would have brought Given in to play.
"Hello, Bobby," he once greeted his England captain, Bryan Robson.

"I'm Bryan," the skipper replied. "You're Bobby."

Again - it shows we are crying out for a quality ball player in midfield. Dennis Wise, are you watching?

Even Bernie Slaven has grudgingly admitted he's been impressed by Bassong ;)

Great ball by Guthrie and unlucky from Martins, caught by the Boro trailing leg. Bassong nulifying Alves.

Duff would have brought Given in to play.

Jonas would have cut inside, looked for the forward pass, but failing to find an opening square it to Geremi on the right wing, who would deliver a pefect floating cross onto Owen's head.

1 - 0 Newcastle.

Not much of a spectacle, but the defence is coping well. Bassong most impressive player so far.

Thats all we need to do away from home TBH. Hope to hit teams with a bit of quality at some point in the game and we do have the players to do it. I'd be suprised if we don't score but i'd also be suprised if we kept a clean sheet.

It sounds like we are missing a creator like someone to dominate in midfield.

Cisse scores but its disallowed sounds harsh.

Owen and Martins are pulling the defenders out of position, we are crying out for a midfielder to arrive in the box.

Boro much more likely, we won't score in 900 minutes of football if it continues like this.
