293 yards rushing allowed.  :kasper:

That's ridiculously bad. What are the chances of Detroit losing it's franchise? The place seems in disarray and there were loads of empty seats - not a good sign.

You probably shouldn't average the rating over multiple seasons at all, but I take your point.  Wins are an important factor, but it may flatter the quarterback.  Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl, as did Brad Johnson, Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning (who is certainly better this season than he was for most of last season when he won it all).  If you want to talk about "all time" greatness it is difficult to argue with this list:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Quarterbacks_with_multiple_Super_Bowl_starts

No Manning or Marino?

Yeah, pretty easy to argue with that tbh.

Think it goes to show that pass-heavy offenses just don't win the Superbowl. Even in the year Peyton won it, he actually had a miserable post-season (3 tds, 7 ints). Pass-heavy offenses excel in the regular season, but in the postseason, you play better teams and thus your team needs to be all-rounded to be successful. Last year's Patriots' team is a good example having a one-dimensional offense.

I read a stat from TMQ last year that said that the team with the 'best' passing offense in the league hasn't won the Superbowl in an eon. So actually, Peyton's only been padding his stats his whole career  selfish f***er. He should pass less if he wants to win.

Are you guys getting these halftime shows? Broadcasting s*** like this to us is torture, but I think sending it overseas must be some sort of declaration of war.

It really is a farce that a team like the Eagles will almost certainly fail to qualify for the playoffs while the Cardinals will walk it.  The f***ing second seed wild card in the NFC is going to be, at a minimum, 10-6 or possibly even 11-5.

Aye, so do I on Madden.

Vince Young is a poor, poor mans Michael Vick.
Of course. I've been grooming Pedro for ages just to get a crack at that starfish.

In the short time I've followed NFL, my favorite players have been Vick, Sean Taylor, Ed Reed, and Ray Lewis. Very depressing what happened to the first two on that list. Vick actually reminded me of Oba because he would do incredible things one play, and something really stupid the next. I'm not a big fan of the finesse passing play that some teams use, boring to me.

Constantly pulled down by the mediocrity of others.

Ah yes....the time tested Madden strategy of picking the Falcons, lining up with 5 receivers you have no intention of throwing to (except maybe Crumpler when he is wide, wide open) and then just taking off with Vick up the sideline.  Gold.

Hated Vick, glad he's gone tbh and hope he never returns.

Polamalu is probably my favourite non-Bronco, guy is amazing.

Breaking news that Plexico Burress has apparently shot himself in the leg with a shotgun by mistake.

Typical.  The one weekend I actually want the Giants to win and Plaxico decides to blow his leg off.

He was out with a hamstring injury anyway at least.

Got to figure this is him done for the year though, if it's any proper sort of proper gunshot wound at all.

Yous serious about Plaxico?

If so then

He has always struck me as being like a 14 year old in a 30 odd year old mans body anyway going by his general demeanor in interviews and such so really it shouldnt surprise me.

This reminds me of the time Jack Del Rio put a huge log and an axe in the locker room and got his players to chop the wood to psyche them up only for one of them to chop a lump of their foot off!

Not looking forward to today.

The Bretts are gonna absolutely flatten Denver, unless Cutler has one of his inspired days. Such a one man team, no defense, no running game and s*** special teams. I always picture Shanahan giving the teamtalk just like The Fonz in 'Waterboy'.

"C'mon guys, we're a team. Jay can't do this by himself, you've got to help him out."

*Pulls Cutler aside as the rest of the team run onto the field*

"OK Jay, if we're gonna win this thing you're gonna have to do it by yourself because nobody else on this team is any good. So, can you do it for me?"

Cutler: "Not only will I do it for you coach, but.... buh... yes, yes I'll do it for you"
