He is a Jet, and thus must fail.
since the early/mid 80's many people have said "hey i think the jets have a shot this year". even when they have a good set up it never works.

Bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant.

I couldn't even imagine how awful it would be if the Jets got their act together. It would be like you living in Sunderland when they conquer Europe.

September.

Shak, you know your American Football pretty good.

What do you make of the Jets QB Mark Sanchez?? cant say I know a whole lot about the chap

It's always very difficult to tell how guys will transition from college to the NFL, as the style of play is so different at the two levels.

I don't enjoy college football so I can't say I've seen a whole lot of Sanchez. The one full game I did see him play he looked like an absolute God, but the opposition were desperate so you really can't tell.

Physically he has all the tools to succeed, much will depend on how well coached he is. If Ryan can take the Jets D to the next level, it'll make things a whole lot easier on the young QB. (like Flacco last year in Baltimore)
Don't know much about him, but Flacco last year was a special case and I don't think many players will find the luck that he did last year. I highly doubt Sanchez will have a defence supporting him, that not only prevents the opposition from scoring, but often scores itself. The man was allowed room to grow because the environment he was placed in did not place much emphasis on his performance. This will not be said of the Jets who are nowhere as experienced as the Ravens and do not have an equivalent defence.

Constantly pulled down by the mediocrity of others.

Tight end Tony Gonzalez is an Atlanta Falcons player now. Formerly a Kansas City Chief.

Anyone know anything about him? His stats all seem rather favourable, but my knowledge of NFL players is really limited to the big names.

"I'm here for one reason, and that's to win the Super Bowl," the All-Pro tight end said Friday (in April..).  :undecided: :undecided:

He's the best tight end ever, pretty much.

Will be ideal for Ryan to pick out in the end zone. Good trade for Falcons IMO
They keep saying their strategy will take several years to implement, I accept this and realise that in the future we may be able to hold onto players much easier if we manage to achieve success without burning cash to get there. There's next to no point in overspending until you're in the s*** to get to Europe, only to fall out of it for several years and potentially enter relegation battles. Be frugal, spend the money wisely but at all times keep a core of good players in the side and try the utmost to create a core which is reasonably stable for three-four years.

I fully expect to get slayed and slated here for being a w***** apologist and maybe I'm wrong, maybe all they care about is lining their pockets and f***ing us over but you can argue it both ways. The haters have a more aggressive way of talking about it but we'll not know who's right until MA's ownership comes to an end.

Seriously though, great trade for the Falcons that.

Hard team to predict this year. Can see them slumping, but Ryan is gonna be one hell of a QB very soon.

What I don't get is the amount of articles I read that go on about the amazing wide-outs and then reel off the names Michael Jenkins and Roddy White. I am yet to be impressed by these receivers.

Falcons need to stick to their running game and slowly get a good passing game sorted out over the period of a season. Turner is so, so much better than Warwick Dunn.

(Bring back Vick)

Roddy White has established himself as a quality #1 receiver the last two years, ever since the Falcons actually started using a quarterback in their offense.

Jenkins is fine as a #2 guy and is still young and should improve.

Between those 2 and Gonzalez, they have more than enough in the way of targets for Ryan to work with.

But yeah, the running game needs to be the foundation of their offense, at least for another couple of years.
