Another very good episode this week. Starting to think that this show has the potential to be extremely special if they start writing the individual episodes a bit more tightly.

It's really starting to pick up speed now.  Denethor is brilliant in it, too.

I love that they just went out and out sci-fi this week by the way. Teleportation, time travel, quantum physics, walking through walls. It's like they just directed an arrogant "f*** you, you thick c***s" at the entire general american viewing public in one brutal 48 minute sweep. :smug:

The ratings will probably be down to about 3,000,000 next week.

I just watched that episode, really enjoyed this.  Whens it back on after the Christmas break?

Awful episode this week. What the f*** are the writers doing? I have no problem with slower, character-focused episodes, but this wasn't even that, it was just slow and unfocused. They're trying to concentrate too much on maintaining the ratings -- pandering to thickos, basically, and it's going to be the death of the show.

After such a strong end to the opening episodes, the show's return has been hugely disappointing.

Also, how many more sci-fi shows are going to have a pop at the killer-computer theme before realising that it is s***?

Yeah, that was much better.

What was the point in the two episodes before this one though? Total s**** and filler.

They're doing what Lost did during its second season. A few nothing episodes, then when a hiatus arives, go out with a bang. Lost could get away with it because it had established itself, Fringe hasn't, so it's a risky game.

Good return this week. Also:

Quote
After collaborating on his upcoming Star Trek reboot, Abrams has signed Leonard Nimoy to join the cast of his Fox baby, Fringe.

The 78-year-old Trek icon will play William Bell, Walter Bishop's former lab partner-turned-millionaire founder of Massive Dynamic.

"It was a delight to work with Mr. Nimoy on Star Trek," J.J. tells me. "The idea that he will play the mysterious, much-referenced William Bell is a thrill. I know I sound like a goofy fan boy, but I can't help it: Leonard is an icon of the genre and such a wonderful actor. To have him come on board Fringe is a mind-blowing honor."

The character is slated to debut in next month's season finale and then return in the fall for an extended arc.

Huge coup for the show.

Nobody else watching this anymore?

I thought it was quite good again this week, but still standalone. Seems like one mythology episode in every five. Good monster action though.

Me and my good lady.

 So William Bell surfaces.

Going to be played by Spock, he is going to look much older then Walter Bishop, i thought William Bell was just Walter Bishops assistant???  Not that older people cant be an assistant.

Thought it was a bit "meh" this week. Last week's was good, but this was a nothing episode, apart from a tiny bit of character development, it just stank of filler, reminded me of the s*** X-Files episodes when nothing really happened. You can imagine them sitting there planning the storyline saying "What can we do this week? Hmmmm... Ip dip dogshit, you are not it... Right bog-standard monster episode it is then."

I agree, but I quite enjoyed it. I thought it was the best standalone episode they've done.

The format of the show, and the need for it not to be cancelled (being very heavy sci-fi), means that the serialised aspects are always going to take a back-seat unfortunately.

Yeah, this is the next best thing to Lost at the minute. Starting to look like Abrams and team have done it again, despite a shaky start.
