Choose wisely, Kasper. Not all universities in Scotland are actually all that good. Basically, for the subjects you're looking at you want to apply to Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen and forget the rest. Best of luck.

Fed up.  Got 2,000 words to write about the diversity of colonial America.  Done 750 words, and I've only made a few points, and can't see anything that I can cut out.  If I keep on going I'm going to be waaaaay over the limit.  :undecided:

I'd rather have too much than too little, tbh.
Got a vibrtating love egg stuck in wor lass last night. The string snapped to get it out. It was remote control so I kept turning it on, then i realised she was nearly crying. Had to fish it out. Never mind.

I looked the devil in the eye, went home and jerked off. That's standard procedure.

Woah! This sounds a rather familiar story...I think you may want to have a quiet word via PM with Decky about the rights and wrongs of choosing to go to university in a foreign country and taking a mate with you...it could all end up rather messy. :dontknow:

Strathclyde? Well, it's in Glasgow. So the pair of you could flat share and socialise together. But I'd recommend Glasgow University ahead of Strathclyde, tbh.

Not to spoil the fun, but I strongly wouldn't recommend going to any university solely down to be around a friend, or a girlfriend, or whatever. It's convenient if there are people around that you know, or a close friend or someone, but the suitability of the degree, how it relates to your career ideas and the quality of the university/local area all really come before that in my book.

I hope you make the right choice mate

I'm going from the 1600's mate.  Puritans in New England, and the capitalist mentality in Virginia etc etc!

Too much and they won't mark it mate.  You're allowed 10%, give or take, so 2,200.  Lad on my course submitted an essay last year that was 3,000 and they dismissed it straight away, they knew it was well over.  OK for first year, cos he just did it again, don't fancy that happening in 2nd year.

Yes you're both absolutely correct. I havent really made my mind up about anything but im going to put an application to some places and do a bit more research. But so far it looks like Glasgow uni if im going to Scotland. Would be nice to have a mate in the same city atleast.

Ive been thinking about going to a foreign country to study for a while but the fees have put me off so far. The fact that you dont have to pay for the fees yourself in Scotland is very tempting. Pretty much the same as Finland except we dont have the fees at all, so you dont have to apply for the fees to be paid for you.

Would be nice to know 100% sure what I want to do but sadly that's not the case. Currently studying business but it's not my thing at all. Lost interest after 4 months already...Geography is something that has been on my mind for some time now...

Aye anar, only been at uni 3 months myself. I mean "too much" as being able to snip bits out as opposed to struggling to come up with enough.

I think you should go travelling if you can afford it. Or even if you can't afford it, still find something else interesting other than Uni to spend a year out just finding out what you really want to do. But then, that's just me looking back and wishing I'd done things differently.

If it's too long when you've written it, send it my way if you like and I'll see if I can edit it down for you without removing any of the content. You can normally easily snip over 10% of the words just by restructuring sentences. I'll also give it a proof read for you, since I am just so friendly like that :aww:

What mood am I in?

:dave: Foul. f***ed off. Irritable. Grumpy. Stressed. Needing a holiday. Tired.

This f***ing house move seemed such a good idea at the time, but it's not made easier when you're dealing with a nobjockey of a solicitor, AAAaaaargh!

“What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.” - Sir Bobby Robson
