Japanese POW in USSR in 1945
« on: Saturday 7 June 2008, 10:31:05 PM »
A Japanese soldier captured by the Red Army in Manchuria in 1945 made a series of drawings describing his time there. The translation is appalling in places but for me it adds to its appeal.

For me it's a really moving story made all the better by the remarkable humour of the POW concerned.

Have a look and leave your thoughts please.

"Hello, Bobby," he once greeted his England captain, Bryan Robson.

"I'm Bryan," the skipper replied. "You're Bobby."

That denial has me wondering, you seem to be in far too much of a hurry to deny something which was not even mentioned.
