Think it's a case of Gordon Brown clutching at straws.  He's got nothing better to do so go for the easy option of reclassifying the weed.  Don't touch it myself.  Started having the odd bong when I was about 15 at school but didn't like it.

After that moved on the Promise/Shindig scene and gave it 6 nowt on the pills.  Had another dabble with the gear at about this time when I would go back to an after-party trying to chill.  Had some proper scary experiences though where the gear mixed with the comedown and I just seemed to whitey all the time.  Thought all my best mates were trying to take the p*ss and got sketchy as f*** for a while.

A lot of people I know now have got to have a bong before they can even get out of bed and go about their business - and btw have exhibited absolutely no propensity for packing the weed in, mugging old women and starting on the smack!.  What I'm trying to say is that classification of drugs is so arbitrary and achieves nothing.  Although I don't do them now I could easily go out have a few pills, behave myself and enjoy the night with my mates.  On the other hand, if I were to have half a joint I'd probably whitey - I just don't respond well to the gear.  Therefore, as far as I'm concerned - one person's class A could be another's class B/C and vice versa.

That's what gets me about all these politicians and middle-englanders trying to look good.  They know f*** all about the things they're campaigning for and trying to prohibit.

I think everyone with half a brain can see through this. So it'll have the desired effect, i.e. appeasing Daily Mail readers. Whether you agree with it or not, no. 10 has been leaking the reclassification for some time before they even received the results of the latest advisory report. Also, the figures of people smoking cannabis have gone down since the reclassification. Totally indicative of the way politics is conducted in this country really.
Agree totally. The idea that gov't policy has to change to please some right wing knobheads in middle England is a f***ing disgrace.

Particularly when this deals with an issue regarding personal freedom.

It is not the role of any gov't to decide what I can and can't do to my body as long as it affects no one else.

Anyone who says otherwise is simply a control freak (probably with a very small penis)

As for the possible links between cannabis and mental health it is laughable to even consider this as point to debate.

There is no proof of a link while there is far more proof of the links between alcohol and liver damage for example. Or ciggies and lung cancer.
