Cannabis to be re-classified again! Do you smokers care?

So against the recommendations of the experts the government has decided to waste more time, effort and money in a futile attempt to win back some support for the labour party after taking a hammering in the recent local elections.
bearing in mind that scum such as pete doucherty has been released early due to over crowded prisons. now we are due even more over crowdings as poor stoners all over the place will be getting arrested and locked up for having a quiet spliff.

as a weed smoker of many years i'm not happy as I believe it should be decriminalised and regulated like in amsterdam.
but i dont care about the classification as it means nothing to me.

so what the rest of you smokers and non-smokers think of this?

I don't really care to be honest, it was just as easy to get it and walk about smoking it when it was B as when it changed to C.  It's a daft move all the same, but hey, they've got to win votes somehow.
You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.
We ourselves are responsible for our own happiness and misery. We create our own Heaven. We create our own Hell. We are the architects of our own fate.
Student says " I am very discouraged. What should I do?" Master says, "encourage others."
We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.
It takes a wise man to learn from his mistakes, but an even wiser man to learn from others.
This is what should be done. By one who is skilled in goodness, and who knows the path of peace: Let them be able and upright, straightforward and gentle in speech. Humble and not conceited, contented and easily satisfied. Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways. Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful, not proud and demanding in nature. Let them not do the slightest thing that the wise would later reprove.

I think everyone with half a brain can see through this. So it'll have the desired effect, i.e. appeasing Daily Mail readers. Whether you agree with it or not, no. 10 has been leaking the reclassification for some time before they even received the results of the latest advisory report. Also, the figures of people smoking cannabis have gone down since the reclassification. Totally indicative of the way politics is conducted in this country really.

The fact that it is so blatently a vote catcher really annoys me tbh. They are going against what was recommended to them by experts, which just tipifies how s*** British politics is at the moment. It won't effect me really as I don't smoke too regularly, and even if I did, it would do nothing to deter me from smoking it.

Can't say it's going to stop me smoking it like.

The decision to resign was one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever had to take in my life. I believe that anybody who knows me and my attachment to Newcastle United and the North East in general will understand how difficult this must have been. Cannabis should be legalised as it keeps people further away from more dangerous drugs and organised crime which I reckon is more dangerous than the drug itself.

This should be compensated with stricter sanctions on the likes of driving under the influence and drug related child neglect.

And I also think cannabis should be taxed with the money going towards mental health treatment, as there is a definite link between the two for a proportion of smokers.

What I find amusing is that it's a total non-issue on a similar level to something like foxhunting yet the politicians seem to think this is something significant over which votes will be won.

What I find amusing is that it's a total non-issue on a similar level to something like foxhunting yet the politicians seem to think this is something significant over which votes will be won.

I'm not sure they genuinely think that.

The legalisation of cannabis could lead to the new generations of youth today preferring dope to cigarettes. You can only imagine the loss of revenue experienced by HM Treasury, not to mention the reduction of wealth experienced by those politicians in the pockets of cigarette lobbyists.

I'm talking about it being changed from a class 'C' drug to a class 'B' drug. No major politicians are even discussing legalisation / decriminalisation at present, are they?

British government at its best.

They'd rather have the people doing a couple mph over the speed limit or the people who are harming no one, just chilling with a bit of weed arrested than the real criminals.  f***ing cops stopped me and a couple of mates at the weekend just for walking up the road with a carry out.  c***s!

Oh well, won't make a difference anyway.  People will still get it when they want it.
