Eye floaters...
« on: Tuesday 25 March 2008, 03:24:23 PM »
Anyone else get these motherfuckers?

Like little squiggles in your eye that sort of float past and then dissappear.

Annoying  :knuppel2:

YES!

Wondered for years what the f*** those things are. They're always the same with me though, if I stare long enough I can see the same patterns.

Always assumed they are just minute imperfections on the surface of my eyes, or is there a proper explanation?

Its the fluid stuff on your eye, read up about it, and there nowt to worry about.

Unless you see loads at the same time, then you're retina is probably detatched.

It is entirely dependent upon the reason for them. In short, get the fuc kkers checked out.

A common reason is that sometimes the 'jelly' inside the eye, detaches in small parts and floats around like squiggles and drops of ink in fluid.

A little alarming but depending on the reason, they are just reabsorbed into the sclera blood stream.

But get yourself up to eye casualty and prepare for a long wait. far better to know its harmless than the beginnings of a detached retina - that - if it were- would need immediate attention anyway.

Bit rash isnt it mate?

I think the majority of the people I've asked get them.

I said they are nothing to worry about - unless they are there for a reason.

You asked. You must have cared about it. I'm not going on record as telling you anything other than to get it checked.

Honestly, its like people who write into a magazine saying  - I'm sh itting blood, is this OK?

FFS get it looked at by people who know more about eyes that playstation games!

You'll be fine but if it suddenly just occured, does it not strike you it requires a bit more consideration than asking Dr. Has?

I've experienced that for as long as I can remember, went to the optometrist the other day for an un-related thing and she didn't notice anything wrong.

I thought they were splashback sperm that mistook your eye for an ovum.

Sometimes when its dark (normally suddenly) I can see a blob of white light that slowly fades to black, do others get that?
I looked into the eye of the Island and what I saw was beautiful.

Do you mean the little spots that stay in your eye after looking at the sun, or directly into some form of bright light?

No, he's on about the film of liquid on your eye you sometimes see. I think.

The hyaloid artery, an artery running through the vitreous humour during the fetal stage of development, regresses in the third trimester of pregnancy. Its disintegration can sometimes leave cell matter
