Football Ground Guide - All Premiership and Football League Clubs
« on: Monday 15 August 2005, 10:34:29 PM »
I always swear by this website if there's anything I need to know about a ground I'll be going to.

http://www.footballgroundguide.co.uk/

It lists everything from how to get there to the cost of local accomodation to where to go for a drink. There's also useful ground layouts, reviews of stadiums by other supporters and ticket office numbers.

Well worth a look.
"What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It's not the television contracts, get out clauses or the marketing departments or executive boxes. It's the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city''

Sir Bobby Robson, 1933-2009

"Following Newcastle is a birthright, a religion, a warm-up before the knees-up of a night out. On the Geordie check-list of must-do activities, watching the Toon ranks alongside breathing."

Taken from the above site;

What Do The Middlesbrough Fans Sing?

All the Geordies went to Rome just to see the Pope,
all the Geordies went to Rome just to see the Pope,
all the Geordies went to Rome just to see the Pope
And this is what he said.
Who's that team they call the Boro,
who's that team we all adore,
and they play in red and white
and they're ****ing dynamite,
and we'll support the Boro for evermore.

 That's the biggest pile of crap I've ever heard!

Whenever my mate sings that, I'm just "Eh? You're supposed to say 'f*** off!'?"

That chant would be far better (and more catchy) if they got rid of the first 4 lines.

Weird.

Mind you, it looks like they were informed about our chants by a bunch of charvers!

Quote
Oh my lads you should of seen us gannin,
Gannin along the Scotswood Road just to see them stannin,
All the lads and lasses there all with smiling faces,
Gannin along the Scotswood Road to see the Blaydon Races!

Eh? What?

Quote
And to the tune of Any old Iron:
"Liam O'Brien, Andy O'Brien,
Any, any, any O'Brien.
Put the ball in the Mackems' goal
O'Brien, O'Brien!"
