For better or worse, looks like a sequel is on the cards:

I thought it was enjoyable. Could have ended the film there and then with the Helicopter crash though, that would have been pretty cool.
Saw him in Primark with Neil Warnock earlier today

That actually could've salvaged a bit of pride for the makers, but they couldn't, just couldn't. Like the whole Spielberg - A.I. incident. You just KNEW that because it was Spielberg the film would drag on for another three hours and the boy would end up somehow meeting his human parents.

Why can't people just see it for themselves?!

Seems fantastically twattish to take the word of someone else over your own opinion.

I can certainly understand people not wanting to waste 5 to 8 quid on a film they feel ambivalent about.

I read an interview with JJ Abrahms, he said he would take his time with a Cloverfield "2"  so he can do the first film justice.

I'm sure the second movie will be just as interesting.

The 2nd one should be from the army or from the Government's perspective, so we have a chance to get some answers (wouldnt be like  J.J. Abrams to leave unanswered questions would it?).

“What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.” - Sir Bobby Robson

Maybe they'll make like 5 sequels that keep adding extra mysteries and keep making it up as they go along?

Yeah and maybe they will make films that offer nothing to the main storyline, but make them anyway to drag it on for longer to make more money.

No, it wouldn't. Alias and Felicity wrapped most things up. And since he doesn't write LOST, they're the only two things he's done that I can think of that you could be referring to...

If you're curious enough to post in a thread about it, then i'd say you're curious enough to want to watch it.  Alternatively, if you have no interest in the film whatsoever, then you don't need the persuasion to not go see it.

I watched this for the first time last night, and I really thought it was brilliant. I was hooked all the way through it and was dissappointed when it ended, although I can understand why it ended when it did.

Looking back over this topic I can't believe some of the comments. There is no way that this is "s***" (Copyright DJ_NUFC). At worst, even if you aren't a fan of this kind of movie, it's decent.

I personally thought it was excellent.
