Nope, tickets available for every day but it was the only day we could all go. 2nd best day of the test match after the Saturday.

I'm going too on day one with my dad.

You can't take alcohol into the ground, what the f***'s that all about? That's just not cricket tbh.

I shall be in attendance on the Saturday of the test.
"I took the decision to resign in September 2008 only after very careful and anxious consideration. The decision to resign was one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever had to take in my life. I believe that anybody who knows me and my attachment to Newcastle United and the North East in general will understand how difficult this must have been. I very much hope that the decision of the Tribunal now confirms why I felt that I had no option but to resign from the position as Manager of the Club that I love."- Kevin Keegan speaking on 02/10/2009

So they get loads of money from the beer tent behind the stands!

I know someone who takes a full baguette, hollows out the insides and puts a bottle of wine in there, then gets it out when he enters the stadium. Wine + bread. Result!

It'd also work if you put a few cans in there I suppose!

West Indies captain Brian Lara has announced he will retire from all international cricket after Saturday's World Cup match against England.

Lara, who is 38 on 2 May, had already said he would quit one-dayers but was expected to play in the four-Test series in England, which begins in May.

"On Saturday I'll be bidding farewell to international cricket as a player," he told a news conference.

"I've already spoken to the board and my players."

Lara is Test cricket's leading scorer with 11,953 runs from 131 Tests and holds the record for the highest Test score, an unbeaten 400 against England in Antigua in 2004.

He captained his side in 47 Tests, winning 10, in three separate spells.

The game against England will be his 299th one-day international but marks the end of the World Cup for both sides, who have failed to qualify for the semi-finals.

Lara's captaincy has come in for criticism but he said: "I hold West Indies cricket dear to my heart. It's been a good run and I've enjoyed every single day."

Vice-captain Ramnaresh Sarwan is the most likely candidate to lead the side in the first Test against England, which begins at Lord's on 17 May.

But Lara hinted at disagreements with the West Indies Cricket Board when he said: "Whoever takes over the team, it is important he gets whole-hearted support from everyone."

Whenever there's an England Test or ODI on people end up parking in my street because it's a stones throw away. Last time some cheeky c*** parked on the parking bay we made outside our house.

Due to my mammoth Summer off I'm going to try and go to as many Durham games as I can, and probably at least one day of England/Windies. Shame Lara won't be there, I've seen him play before for Warwickshire but I was really young at the time.

It's not all that. We have a nice park and a good cricket stadium (and a good cricket team judging from the first 2 days of the season) The front street has a number of pubs, a few clubs, about a dozen charity shops and betting shops and an Argos and a Woolworths. Oh and about 8 opticians'. Other than that, I'm struggling for positives. There's a nice sports complex at the Riverside. That has it's moments. There's a massive graveyard next to my house. And there's a train station, so you can leave quickly and get to Newcastle in 10 minutes. Hurray!

That sums it up tbh. There's nothing here except cricket. Has it really got to the stage where CLS is generalised as cricket?  :o

It's a bit of an arse trying to get booze in, we packed a massive picnic bag with about 12 cans at the bottom. On the way in we got asked if there was any booze in there:

"Nope"
*Rummaging*
"Seems like there are a couple of cans in here..."
*embarassment*
"Oh yeah, we put about 4 in, sorry about that" (hoping they'll just take 4 of them)
*more rummaging*
"Actually it seems like you've got an awful lot in here"
*Awkward Silence*
"...Oh."

Got them all taken off us! You get it back at the end of the day though (we did anyway) so it's worth trying with £3 a pint being the alternative.
Under-21 coach David Platt added: "If Shola recognises what he's got, all hell could break loose."

Sounds like you need a fair few baguettes
