Airstrikes have always been the solution for Iran... never invasion.

If they try to blockade the gulf then the sh!t would really happen.

Tbh they'd only have to release their huge collection of sea mines into the waterways.....All stop. blueyes.gif

The Royal Navy says GPS evidence proves 15 personnel being held in Iran were 1.7 nautical miles inside Iraqi waters when they were seized in the Gulf.
Vice Admiral Charles Style said the Iranians had given two different positions for the personnel - the first inside Iraqi territorial waters.

He said they had been "ambushed" after the search of a vessel and that their detention was "unjustified and wrong".

The BBC has been told the group are being held at an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps base in Tehran, where they are said to be being treated humanely.

Meh, least theyre not doing what our soldiers enjoyed doing to Iraqi prisoners.

A former senior ranking military official was on radio 4 yesterday talking about his experiences when he was kidnapped by Iran 12 years ago.

He said they were driven out the desert and knelt in front of mock graves that were dug with guns to their head. He said he honestly thought his time was up. They only did it to create fear.

Remember too - this was from government forces and NOT terrorists as well!

Well our guys are currently being held by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard who are pretty much a law unto themselves and answer primarily to the grand master religious gadgie rather than the governement and Armydinnerjacket.

Ultimately, they are trained, financed, employed by and answerable to the Iranian government.

Iran is goading the west and we are allowing them to get away with it. Heaven help us if Iran had nuclear capability to bring to the table.

Just heard on the radio that the Iranians are going to release the young lassie in the next few days who was captured with the other 14 men.
Of course. I've been grooming Pedro for ages just to get a crack at that starfish.

Lol you have a point!, practically every story in the last few days has been about her and the 'other 14 men', just cause she is a) a woman and b) has a child.  Do none of the captured men have children?, it seems as though in the media her life is valued more than the men.

Just further ammunition to back up the claim that males aged 18-35 are the most discriminated against group of people in the country.
Of course. I've been grooming Pedro for ages just to get a crack at that starfish.

unfortunately, there are a lot of people who think they wouldn't use them, because they are nice lads, and just need love and understanding, or at least give this impression, by allowing them the time and space to further increase their capability.

The same people who said we shouldn't invade Iraq probably, while Saddam was torturing his own people having previously used chemical weapons on them, thus pretty much showing he still had the same capability at least to use and further develop those too, while also breaking the terms of the original surrender of the first Gulf War.

Nah, having used them in the past doesn't actually prove what you said it does. And it comes to something when you need an event that happened before the first Gulf War to justfy the second one.

if they had the technology before, and used them, then they still have it and would use them again ? Reason to invade or not ?

Breaking the terms of the ceasefire and generally taking the p*ss out of the west, and abusing the "authority" of the UN ?
Reason to invade or not ?

It should have been finished the first time, but Saddam was let off the hook, and you saw the result. Thats what happens when you let rulers like that carry on. Unless you think invading Kuwait wasn't a good reason either ?

Not getting into it again tbh. And it's water under the bridge anyway. Should we invade Iran? Is surely a much more pertinent question.

It's frankly silly to compare Iran and Iraq (two former enemies). Iran has never strictly been an Arab nation, they have a long and unique Persian history aside of the Gulf Arabs.

Here..

They are actually an Anti-Arab nation..

They are still claiming that my country (Bahrain) is part of Iran, ffs we are this tiny island that is 40 kilo's long, propbly smaller then Newcastle ...

And we are much closer to Dubai (UAE for that matter) , Qatar,Saudi Arabia then to Iran

I am almost sure we will be the first to get f***ed if a war breaks through..
