It's a crackin' shot man.  I meant to ask you; is the vignetting you or the G12?

A worthy winner.

A landscape with something in it for scale or POI, like yours, will always look a million times better than just a generic mountain shot (although sometime the scenery is too awesome to need it).

The climbers in that pic will mean so many different things to different people.

It's a proper photo :snod:

Vader looks lonely. Why's the last one a tad soft?

I just got back some of my b+w film stuff as well, will throw it up on here whenever I get around to it.

Skirgey, mate, you're doing some fantastic work, keep it up.

Open_C, setting the path as always, just like tmonkey :)

Always an inspiring thread, this one.

I reduced the clarity a bit to soften the background. Would mean that it appears 'soft'. I'll try and get some company for vader...

Nice one, Skirge. I've done a fair bit of shooting round there. Some great shapes and movement going on.

Many thanks.. honest that Tokina is superb for that kind of situation 11mm is a dream.. have to say mind the Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 handled the glare of the big main streets like much better but I should hope so at £1300

Over processed I know :D

The "over processing" works on those last two as there's plenty black to balance.

My favourite would be this one (just needs a slight rotation anti-clockwise IMHO :) ).

Oh...and I really like Munkey's Vader :D

the left (shouldn't this be in the daft question thread though ?)

got an idea for a shot but don't know if it's possible. from the far north west of newacstle it's possible to get a great view of simonside with cheviot and hedgehope behind, it's a view i've had the privelage of seeing on a daily basis and for me is the greatest view i'll see as it's part of me and beautiful at the same time, thing is from that distance, is it possible to take a decent photo of it ?

Sounds like something you'd need a very clear day for. Maybe a polariser/UV filter would help? Long lens would help compress space.
