is there a bar at the tyne ferry terminal? off on the ferry tonight, and with the bad winds its been delayed an hour. I'm not there yet obviously, but can't really change plans to arrive any later.
f*** off Mike Ashley.

Decent bar just outside the carpark, not sure if that counts for you? Cant remember one inside the terminal

Doing the ferry trip in a few weeks. Bit confused about the food situation aboard. They say food isn't allowed for your own consumption in public areas. Does that mean we can take it onboard and eat in our cabin, or we can't take food onboard at all? The only other food option i can see is the buffet lunch at £21.99 each. Is there a cheaper outlet onboard where you can get maybe take away burger n chips or something?

I did the cruise 2 weeks ago, and we took our own food and beer on, the rule just means you can't eat it in public areas, so yes, your cabin is fine.

Food is expensive as fook on there, cheapest thing you could get was a margarita pizza for £13. There was nothing in the way of burger outlets or any food whatsoever cheaper. Even the duty free shop was expensive. Buffet and breakfast buffet were expensive, we just took cereal bars and bought a cuppa on the morn.

RE: my TV question, there is a sports bar onboard, but it only shows game on Freeview and also Eurosport - basically no PL, but can show FA Cup etc.

Worth buying your Amsterdam bus transfer tickets in North Shields when you check in. £6.50 each way, as appose to €10 each way if you buy on the bus.

The 3 times i have got the ferry over transfers were included, theres no option online to buy them on top of the deal unless its new.

Ah, sorry, my fault. Yes they are included on the "weekend deals" where you get 6 hours in Amsterdam...... (we didnt travel on the weekend deal, we were there 3 days so had to buy them seperately)

By the way, when you get the bus back, they say it picks you up "between 3 and 4pm" and a lot of people end up getting there at 3, jumping on the bus and waiting around at the ferry terminal. Actually, as soon as the 3pm bus is full, another one comes and when thats full, another one. The last bus leaves at 4pm sharp. We got there for 3.20 and sat in the bar by the bus stop until 3.55 and jumped on the last bus.

Was watching SSN last week when i happened to notice Man Utds next 6 fixtures were up in the right hand column of the screen. After a closer look, i realised they are playing a Eupropa league game at Ajax on the date we arrive on the ferry. Can't say i'm looking forward to the company of that lot in the city.

If he's a Man U fan, in their eyes everything that involves them is huge. Was looking at the Ajax ground tour, but not sure if they'll do them with the game being on that night.

Back this morning from the ferry trip. Was a lot of Mancs going over to the Ajax game. More than i expected taking that route TBH. They really are an irritating, mouthy lot. If i never hear another manc accent i'll be happy. They were surprisingly quiet in Amsterdam. You'd hardly guess there was a game on. I've been told there was 88 arrests, so they obviously weren't that quiet.
The trip was a decent experience on the whole. Boat was pricey as expected, but i enjoyed the cheesey, club style band etc. Daughter and I went to Madame Tussauds, had an hours guided tour of the Amsterdam Arena, which was excellent. The roof was closed when we were looking round, and you could imagine how good the atmosphere would be with a full house. Guide was telling us that Feyenoord fans are banned when the sides meet for fear of bother. Briefly had a look at the "Anne Franke" house, though didn't have time to go in.
