I've had the top two removed. Trying to get by without having the bottom ones removed.

Nothing worse than getting an infection in your wisdom teeth.

...and now I have. Talk about tempting fate.

Asked the dentist if I should get them taking out, and he does a Les Dennis/Mavis  "Ooh I don't really know."

I have honesty felt move pain with a paper cut. There is no pain at all, even the injections to numb my mouth didnt hurt. Only downside is swallowing that numbing liquid, I wasnt fair off chucking!
Acceptance level adequate.

I had one out and the dentist used a gadget that pushed it out sideways rather than pulling it  under local anasthetic - back at work in an hour and no serious pain at all

They pushed them about a bit to losen them up then just pulled them out with not too much effort. If I wasnt already on holiday this week I probably would have gone back to work.
Acceptance level adequate.

Would do that but I'm hours away from my dentist back home. Will have to ride it out and wait till Christmas I think.

Yeah but I'm not sure how to go about locating one here. It comes and goes, I'll probably just wait a month and a bit till I go home.

well the yellow pages  for a start

but any dentist is unlikely to be NHS these days - especially for new patients - still worth going in and asking how bad it is and then ORGANISE two dates at home so you get it done over the hols

In the meantime, I think you can relieve the pain by making yourself a mouthwash with a teaspoonful of salt popped in some boiled water. It does work as a stop-gap.

Sounds delicious. I'll give it a shot anyway though. Thanks GM, and thanks Rob.

Aye, don't DRINK it. Just use it to swish around the sore gums for a good 5 minutes. Also, paracetamol helps.
